My friend made Korea lose 3 Billion Dollars

I used to have this friend a year or so ago that was really into computers. He hosted and created this site CG-Rom.com. We had a sort of falling out and didn’t talk for a little while, and once he began to really get into drugs we didn’t talk at all.

Our ages are around 16 right now, and haven’t really talked since we were 13 or 14.

Well, I just found out that he hosted this crank site that was reported as real. Full story here. I choose not to name names, and I also choose not to get into the legal issuses but I’ll just post what has already been posted online. Another story here.

Freakin’ surreal.

Hope he has a good lawyer.

Is there anything actually illegal about it? I mean, it’s a spoof of cnn’s website, so i would imagine it gets some protection by being a parody. I’m not sure how this is that much different than The Onion, with the notable exception that it’s masquerading as a real media outlet.

My first guess would be that the blame is at the feet of the TV station that aired it without fact-checking.

Not unless he was shorting stock at the same time!

Hang on…Bill H… in Silicon Valley?
The man himself? A Doper?

Well, it happened a year ago and I just found out. He did get into trouble with CNN for using their logo and stuff but nothing bad came out of it. Course, that is all I know, so I really have no idea what happened specifically.

Is now a good time to buy stock in the Korea market?

…oh damn that’s an old story.
