I must be really old in that case because I don’t hear anything. My soon to be ex is a musician and my son plays the drums so I have gotten used to noise at all hours. What has always amazed me is my ex running out the door waving his fist at the kids who drive down the block with their bass blaring out of the stereo. I don’t even notice it but he always said it made the house shake.
Yeah, either I am old or deaf or both I guess. However, I think having kids and wanna be rock stars in the house makes one immune to all party noises.
I was out on a date with a young lady a few weeks ago, and we had to pause our dinner conversation for 15 seconds or so because some guys with motorcycles decided that everyone wanted to hear them rev their engines while driving up State St. at 10 mph.
After I rolled my eyes and muttered something, I stopped and said: "Wait! I can’t believe I’m getting that old. When did I stop thinking ‘Damn, I wish I had a motorcycle like that…’?’
Jesus I did this when I was 20. Wednesday night at 2:30 and they’ve got Eye of the Tiger going at 120 decibles. I call the cops.
Next day they come down to apologize. Turns our they were all toking off and when the only clean one among them answered the door and talked to the cop her friends told her to “shut the fuck up” when she told them to turn the music off.
Most of the music just sounds like slightly more commercialized variations of the music I listened to in college. Green Day => Blink 182 => Fall Out Boy. Pearl Jam => Creed => Nickleback. Etc
I’ve never beeny a “fashion guy” as in I never wear stupid flavor of the month trends - bell bottoms, Flock of Seagull haircuts, nose peircings, tatoos, hip hop gear. I have pretty much always worn timeless looks like T-shirts and jeans or preppy J-Crew type stuff
The only celebrities I care about are the ones who appear on the cover of FHM or Maxim
Evidence continues to convince me that the latest generation (Y) is more high strung, needier and less cool than my generation (X).
I don’t have any aliments and most people think I am 26 (and have since I was actually 26, 8 years ago…which is fine by me)
I remember appointments but no longer care if I keep them
