…in Mario Kart 64. I had thought I was pretty good at that game (not quite in terms of lap times, but more in shutting down your opponents for teh win ) but she was amazing, particularly with the green turtle shells (which take some aim and finesse to be effective).
I ought to introduce her to some of the newer F-Zero games, because I’m certain she would rock at those as well.
Have you tried Double Dash for the GameCube? My girlfriend and I get into fights with that one. My only complaint is that it’s not that much different from the 64 version. In some ways I think it requires less skill, although the blue sparks is where it’s at.
Much hate for DoubleDash… I don’t think the carts handle quite as well in general, and I agree that I think the overall impact of skill on the game is a little lower on average.
MK64, on the other hand, was an endless source of get-together amusement, up there with GoldenEye on the Reasons You Need Four N64 Controllers At All Times list.
