I just heard that my grandfather died this morning.
I feel like such a shit because he was in a nursing home for the last three months, and I never ‘got the chance’ to go visit. I kept meaning to, but I haven’t been to NY since August. This weekend my husband and I were going to NY to see everyone, especially my grandparents. Looks like I’ll be getting there a little earlier than I planned. His funeral is Friday.

I don’t know if this helps, as I don’t know what religion (if any) you follow, but IMO he’s got escorts to a nice, big, happy place:) And in much less pain than he was in before.
AIM SN is erlidh if you want to talk. A year and a half ago I lost one grandfather, winter of 1998 lost one grandmother, and winter of 1995 lost the other grandfather.
I lost my great grandfather just two weeks ago…

I’m sorry Rose. It’s hard to be far away from family especially in times like these. I was in the army when three of my four grandparents died and I kept meaning to visit all of them, but never did. It’s hard. If there’s one positive side, it’s that I get to talk to them whenever I want to now.
