Does anyone know how to get these cork-soakers off my toolbar? I went there to find my German ancestors and now, even though I have deleted them from my programs, that god-damn tool bar is still there.

Try deleting your cookies. Or if all else fails do a rollback to a time before you messed with the site.
If it is a separate toolbar, it should be it Add/Remove programs. Also check in your browser’s Tools/Manage Add-ons and see if you can disable it there.
Could also be as simple as going to View/Toolbars and if you see it listed there, uncheck it. (I don’t recall the IE equivalent, this is how you’d do it in Firefox.)
