Normally at this time, it smells of pretty red, white and green candles, maybe peppermint or vanilla or pine scented ones in all the wee Christmassy holder thingies.
Today, however, my contractors responded to a months long nag and finally arrived to finish the upstairs bathroom, which means lovely drying paint fumes. While they were here I also got them to caulk all the windows missed on the first round of caulking, that has a distinctive chemical scent of it’s own. I’ve got the exhaust fan going, an air filtering machine and a few windows open, but whew!
I’m baking up a storm, since the entire family is arriving in a few days, so far I’ve made 4 loaves of banana bread, 2 pans of rice crispies treats, a few dozen choc.chip cookies and have sugar cookie dough chilling in the fridge.
In between the baking I’ve got laundry going, the washer and dryer are in a little nook right off the kitchen, and I just re-heated some roasted pork, gravy and taters for dinner.
Mmmm, the festive smells of April fresh chemical banana pig meat!
