I’m giving up a house and home to begin living in housing. (why is a long story–some good, some bad). But should I feel like an object now? IME only inmates, soldiers, Section-8 recipients, inanimate objects, and other things with no free will are “housed.”
Sigh.
I think I know where you are going with this. Once you are reconciled to the decision, it can be a freeing experience. “A man who owns little is little owned.” You can live life without the burden of objects. I know I’ll be there someday.
As a one-time recipient of Section-8 assistance, I dispute your apparent premise that I had no free will. So, no, don’t look at yourself as an “object.”
