He does, Nomad, but I understand where you’re coming from. I have one kid who is uninsurable. If something like this happened to that one, he would basically have to rely on the charity of the state.
i hope they are able to figure things out and it is an easy fix.
healing thoughts and good thoughts winging your way.
I have no health insurance but if I have blood in my stool I would go to the freaking doctor.
Sending good thoughts to your hubby and you. I hope they find the cause soon.
Thats called cyanosis
and as the medics demonstrated, it is a "BadThing"TM
Maybe. But it could also be extremely pale mucous membranes due to profound anemia.
Cyanotic lips are pretty bluish-purple, while pale ones look more like clay.
His lips did not look blue at all; they were… very very pale. Almost white.
Tomorrow morning he will have a colonoscopy. Perhaps we will find out more after that.
Good thoughts headed your way. Glad you were able to get him care in time. Hope they find the cause very very soon.
Oh honey, I’m so sorry! You hang in there.
There’s good hospitals in your area, so your husband should be in good hands. Take care of yourself, too - make sure you get enough to eat and some rest.
big hugs
Keeping you and your hubby in my thoughts and yes, take care of yourself too!
I’m one of those men who will do my own stitches if possible rather than going to the ER. However, I like to think that if the blood were coming out of an orifice rather than a wound, I’d be on my way to the hospital right away.
Best wishes to you, your husband and the family that he makes a full and speedy recovery.
It’s “tomorrow”, any news from the colonoscopy?
Not to send unnecessary alarm bells, but just for information: My Dad had the same symptoms and was undiagnosed for a couple of years. They ended up snipping out a section of his colon, thinking that might solve the problem.
Two years later he was diagnosed with stomach cancer and died within months.
Just an FYI NinetyWt. Have that possibility checked out.
He already had his stomach scoped, so that should cover that possibility.
Thanks Doc.
ETA: That may sound sarcastic, but I truly, sincerely thank you. You, Qadgop are one of the people whom I trust most on this board.
There’s a couple of car guys (you know who you are) who are equally as informative.
Leaffan, also, they are on the lookout for cancers because hubby’s dad died of complications from esophogeal cancer. It’s something we’re a bit rabid about. But that’s excellent advice, and I think if the family had known to look for it, the dad wouldn’t have succumbed to it.
The doctor didn’t see anything on the colonoscopy, so his next plan is to do some ‘small bowel’ testing which involves drinking stuff and getting some X-rays done. If that doesn’t show anything, it’s time for the pill camera. This testing won’t happen until the end of the month.
Hubby was discharged from the hospital today and so ate some actual real food this afternoon, yay! He was gettting ornery … I told his sister, if they didn’t release him from the hospital soon then they’d have to be giving ME a tranquilizer.
Thanks for all the support, well wishes, advice & info y’all.
Thanks for the update NinetyWt! Hang in there. More good thoughts headed your way.
I was glad to see your update - I was wondering how things went. Hopefully they will find out what’s going on soon, and it will be an easy fix.
I exist only to serve.
[sub]Now, how can I convert all that trust into cash money?[/sub]
Thanks, I try.
You need a trust fund.
