My husband submitted this track several weeks ago, and it got a LOT of good response. The folks at garageband.com sent him an email last week, informing him that it had been chosen to be the blues Track of the Day for today, May 26.
If you’d be interested in listening to it (it’s his version of “Let Me Love You”), it’s right here, at garageband.com.
Ok, help me out a bit please? I tried to play it and winME wants to know what program to use to play a .ram file. I have not a clue. Any hints would be appreciated (you can tell I don’t listen to a lot of music on the computer {yet!}). Thanks!!
DRY: Everyone in this house is musically inclined–except me. My husband’s been playing since he was 4–he’s 40 now. Our kids, one age 4 and the other age 19 months, show real promise. I, on the other hand, am not so gifted. I played trombone in band for seven years, and I was okay, but that’s it. I preferred dance and acting.
It is my intent, though, to encourage the kids to play music–if they want to. They’re around it all the time, and they seem to be leaning towards being little players themselves, which really is fine with me. I can’t think of a reason not to encourage it. I mean, music is a good thing. And maybe if they decide that they really, really like it, they’ll work extra hard at it, and it’ll keep them out of trouble when they get older.
Persephone, I envy you. Not only for having children, but for having precocious, talented ones, especially with respect to music. (This from someone who’s musically not inclined)
I think you said it best–provide your children with encouragement in this area, and support, though not necessarily to push them too hard. I’m sure you’ll strike a fine balance.
Congratulations to you and your entire family again!
