Help desk phone monkey. I don’t remember my actual title but I answer helpdesk phone calls for various IT related needs.
Actually, back in my days as a phone sex operator, screaming and loud noises were pretty much just another night on the job. . .
These days? I’m a rental property manager and co-owner.
Currently: major airline pilot.
Per the OP my earlier wildly different careers don’t count.
Responding to **Evil Captor’s **lament, we know we have lots of blue collar or low status jobs here on the SDMB. I just think we’re going to see relatively few of them posting in this thread.
OTOH, if we have a lottery winner or playmate-of-the-month auditioner, I bet we’re gonna hear from them.
Human nature: if ya’ can’t beat it, join it.
Diplomat (i.e. Foreign Service Officer with US Dept. of State)

(Hi, Jack!)
Now there’s an “Ask the…” thread I’d like to see!
(Bye, Jack!)
How many years were you a lieutenant airline pilot before you made major?
Legal instruments examiner (i.e.: legal database proofreader/editor) and backup customer service rep regarding transfers of intellectual property.
Tradeshow coordinator for a Biotech Company
Policy analyst, Department of Education. Also legislative support but I prefer to forget about that.
I actually did one a year or two ago. If I get time later, I’ll see if I can dig it up for you.
Um–did a guy named Indiana Jones leave anything there?
Secretary. I did a thread search and was surprised no one had listed this one yet. I’m a general office kind of secretary, so there’s room for more specialized secretaries (e.g. medical, legal) to post.
That’s my formal title. My actual function is closer to office manager. When our last office manager retired, I was assigned most of her duties and was told they’d be hiring a new OM very shortly. They keep telling me that. It’s been almost three years. Welcome to Screwedville, Polecat! Population: You!
I can take a look as well. Thanks!
Retail Pharmacist (well, I will be when I graduate in 99 days [woohoo! double digits!!!], that’s close enough isn’t it?)
Pump Maintenance Worker.
Government for fixing anything that gets water out of the ground.
Better watch it, dude. If your count hits triple digits, you might explode!
