I slept long and hard last night. Well, I did wake up a few times; when hubby got up for work, when the kids got up for school, and when hubby called me at 9:30 this morning. After talking to him on the phone, I fell back asleep for another hour! I woke up again with a bit of a headache and hauled my lazy ass out of bed.
It is snowing gangbusters here and it’s sticking too. When the hell does spring really get here?
Nyquil doesn’t do jackshit for me when I have a cold. Nothing really seems to work for me, so I end up just suffering. Fortunately, I don’t often get colds.
I am trying hard to wake up here. I’ve got coffee, but it’s not working. I had plans for today while I had the house to myself. I was planning on coloring my hair and cleaning. As I’ve only been up about 20 minutes or so, I don’t think this is happening.
Hugs to everyone. I think I’ll cruise the Dope for a bit in hopes of waking up some more.
I haven’t been able to wake up all day, my nose is stuffed, and my muscles are aching. Sound familiar? At least I’m not totally out of it – I rarely get really flat-out-on-my-back sick, thank Og!
Cutie, of course I still want to play with you. Denounce that scoundrel Beebs, and we can play anytime you want!
He’s busy picking a fight with some girl’s protective mother, anyway…
Yeah, I know I probably needed the sleep, but still, I feel like I wasted half the day in bed. Usually, if I try to stay in bed any later than 7:30 or 8:00 my back starts to hurt.
Man, it’s still snowing here. Big, fat, fluffy flakes…
Happy Firday!! I’m officially on leave. In fact, I left at noon, since nothing was going on at work. I bought the trailer light parts and some groceries for **FCD ** for next week. When I came home and put the trailer in the garage, I ran some continuity checks on the wiring - it’s all good. The problem, as I told *someone * last night, is bad grounds in the lights. They’re all rusty and corroded and not completing the circuits.
Even tho *someone * told me last night that couldn’t be the problem. Still, I bought 2 new tail lights and a new connector, since the old was was pretty corroded and ick. Plus I got a couple of yellow reflectors for the side of the trailer. Once *someone * gets home, we’ll replace the old lights and the connector(s?) and I should be good to go.
Incidentally, where is my car charger for my phone? Seriously, guys, who took it?? <eyes the room suspiciously> It’s not in the Scion, and I didn’t see it in the van. Maybe I should look under the seats in the van?? Stoopit charger.
I found my old DiscMan and thought I might be able to use it for the trip, but it’s way dead. It barely spins up, then it stop-starts-stop-starts ad nauseum, and this is on house power. So I’m stuck with the radio, or my cassette of Cats. I used to have tons of cassettes - wonder what became of them??
It’s nearly 80 degrees here, so the house is wide open. Tomorrow night, it’s supposed to drop to 32. Not that it’ll affect me - I’ll be in FL tomorrow night. Once we fix the trailer, I’ll need to do a little laundry, then pack. I may even pack some shorts. Except then I’d have to shave my legs. Decsions, decisions…
I’m still enjoying the peace and quiet around here. I don’t have much time left to enjoy it though.
Mr. Taters is making good use of the USB turntable that I purchased for him. He’s got a lot of our vinyl albums recorded and on the computer. My son just rolls his eyes whenever the hubby starts recording because he turns the volume up so much.
Pudding in the dough. I can see that. I have difficulty getting really soft breads.
WAITING. NOT GOOD AT WAITING. Also, Nat’s godparents have picked up another old college friend of ours, whom we haven’t seen in three years. Big party tonight, if the kids cooperate.
FCM, it’s an Ion TTUSB USB turntable. You can do 45s, 33s, and 78s on it. It plugs right into your PC. There’s some software that comes with it. It downloads the songs right to Itunes where you can then sync them to your iPod or burn CDs. I paid around $160.00 for it. There are more high end turntables out there, but this does the job.
The only thing I don’t like about the turntable is the lack of a dustcover. We just use the plastic bag sort of thingy that it was packed with in the box as a dustcover.
The sound quality has been pretty decent. In most cases, it’ll even find and name the songs from the albums. Occassionally though, you have to name the song yourself.
Still snowing, but no real accumulation. The grass is white, but it’s not sticking to the roads.
OK, I had said I’d read and I’ve read. Y’all have been busy, which is good methinks.
Rigs, I hope it’s for the best.

Sin etiqueta, you got the preggers? OK, I just have to transmit what The Grandmother From Hell would say:
So, what did you DO to catch that, eh?
I’m serious, she’s got the same reaction to anything doctor-related, be it pregnancy, cancer, far-sightedness or the common cold.
I only had a misspent youth if you reckon that a youth spent wanting to leave home yesterday, doing no drugs, never getting drunk, and helping raise The Bros (first while my parents were too busy, then while they were depressed and she bedridden) is misspent. Sorry, the interesting parts of my biography start after college…
Whew! Firday afternoon, finally!! SDMB blocked -again- at work; it seems to be a sometimey thing, for some bizarre reason. Poopiehead IT people!
The temp outside right now is 68 but the wind has picked up, so it feels somewhat cooler than nearly 70. Tomorrow my daughter and I will head out to Trader Joe’s again; we have a specific list this time, so we’re not getting much but there are a few essentials we -must- have again. We’re also back on track with a new SHARE site, woo hoo! We will get both regular and special packages for April.
A friend I know solely through the internet had a baby boy yesterday! She had a c/section, and the baby is at another hospital right now, in NICU, with some sort of intestinal problems. Please keep them in your prayers and thoughts, although from what I hear the problems are fairly minor and they’re working on fixing them as soon as they can. He’s a cutie! (LOL … and so is TNC, LiLi! :))
LiLi, on the bright side, at least it’s not snowing the way it was s’posed to. I’m quite liking the mild and sunny thing that is going on outside right now.
Hurray for Firday! I’ve got a kitteh on either side of me right now, a freshly downloaded batch of tunes (legally obtained… honest!) and a cup of Earl Grey Blue Flowers blend within arm’s reach. All is well with the world.
The Boy is off somewhere purchasing “something”. I’m not allowed to know what said “something” is, nor could I wheedle even a teensy hint of what exactly this “something” could possibly be. I even tried the whole “but now I’m going to spend all day trying to figure this out when I should be focusing on work” approach, but no dice. The downside to dating a Jew is that they’re completely immune to guilt trips, thanks to Jewish-Mama levels of exposure from a young age onward.
Geez, you people talk a lot. Or write…or something.
Took me ten minutes just to skim, without really reading. Can we officially be done with cold weather now?
I vacuumed the entire house when I got home - now keep in mind most of our ground floor is a laminate wood floor look alike…I forget the name - and I had to empty the Dyson’s cannister twice.
Stoopit cats.
Ok, now I’m blank again.
I’ll pop in later, because I know I’ll just be taking up space on the couch tonight.
[Cuervo] Jeez human servant! Move over and gimme some room![/Cuervo]
Evenin’ Y’all! I’ve had pizza and custom ordered a storm door (for lack of a better word) for the back door of da cave leadin’ out to the porch. If you let the top half of the glass down, screen magically appears. If you let the top half of the glass up, screen magically disappears. Hours and hours of entertainment! It’ll be here and installed in two weeks. Yes installed. I prefers to use ye olde checking account as my favorite tool for stuff like that there.
Ok, I need to go turn on the pool cleaner thingy… ummmm… y’all know… the… thingy what automagically runs around all over the pool cleanin’ it… it’s got a name… oh… Polaris… that’s it! The bottom of the pool looks kinda ick.
The trailer is good to go - YAY! I made a a replacement bracket to mount the licence plate while **FCD ** installed the two lights. Then he replaced the trailer side of the plug pair. When we connected trailer to van, the right side signal and brake light wasn’t working. It took a bit of troubleshooting to determine that the van-side connector was hosed up. But that wasn’t a big deal - we were going to replace it anyway, and we did. It’s in the driveway ready to go - all I have to add are my pillows and my bag.
And I found my phone charger - who left it on the counter??
We had a nice supper, I should probably do some laundry, but I won’t. I do need to pack, and fill my medicine container, and find my toiletry kit. And get to bed early so I can get up early.
I’ll try to check in when I get to Orlando. Do try to get along without me. Be strong. I shall return. Eventually…
They’ve got the Roomba for dusting the floors, and the Scooba washes floors, so a pool-cleaning Poolba bot would be a natural extension of the line. I’ll just wait for the Lawnba.
What? Already? Didn’t you just finish refilling the pool on Tuesday? How can it be dirty already?
