17 games! And over half are due out before the year is up. That means I’m going to need somewhere between $300 and $500 just to be able to buy this year’s titles. I suppose some of them might turn out not to be worth grabbing or worth grabbing right away, but I see myself as one busy monkey.
And that’s just the PC games. I don’t know where I’m going to fit the XBox titles.
What a doofus I am. I completely forgot to post my list.
Republic: The Revolution
Max Payne 2
XIII
Doom III
Deus Ex II
Lionheart
Half-Life 2
Greyhawk: Temple of Elemental Evil
The Sims 2
SimCity 4 + Rush Hour
Syberia 2
Sam & Max 2
Dungeon Siege 2
NWN: Hordes of the Underdark expansion
Dungeon Siege expansion
SW: KotOR
Tron 2.0
Some of those are still not due until next year, but they’re on my must-play list anyway. I can’t believe how many sequels are on it.
No, I’m afraid you DO need Star Wars - Knights of the Old Republic, no matter what Andy says.
You NEED this game. To anyone reading this: if you have an XBox, run out and buy the game. If you don’t have an XBox, borrow one, buy one, or steal one and then get the game. Holy flurkin’ schmidt, you MUST play this game.
I’ll have to check out Star Wars- KOTOR since others have recommended it.
However, I’ve pretty much given up on buying other games.
WWIIOnline has pretty much destroyed ny desire to try other games. I buy them, play them for a short bit then they gather dust.
WWIIOnline is the greatest game ever! True, it won’t appeal to everyone. The game is PvP (player vs player) meaning there are no computer people running around. Everyone you see is a real person. You die easy and often. No wimpy ‘hit points’ and such. No rambo style blazing down of hundreds of the enemy while standing in the open. It rewards patience and cunning so if you are into instant action clickfests you probably won’t like it.
The only reason I don’t have any MMORPG’s on my list is because, in my experience, those require too much dedication. If you want to make a MMORPG worth it, you have to pretty much make it the ONLY game you’d play, for several months at the very least.
Frankly, MMORPG’s aren’t up to the level where it’d be worth spending several months on it. SWG is pretty close… not quite there, but close.
I normally don’t like RPGs that much, but even I shall herald KotOR as a great game. If you have an Xbox, I would consider this a must-rent and maybe a must-own. Either way, check it out.
Also looking forward to Half-Life 2 and Counterstrike 1.6.
Can’t…fathom…spoofe…not playing…kotor…
Why Jedi Academy instead? I loved every second of kotor but I couldn’t really get into Jedi Outcast. What will be different about Jedi Academy? Will it have online play or “system link” (wink wink) for the xbox?
