What did you think of last night’s episode?
No more coma, yay! Looking forward to see how the Billie (Alyssa Milano) plotline continues going forward. Nice to see Daytime Hooker again.
“If this ends as I fear it will, I will testify against you. No hard feelings.”
Fairly good episode, IMHO. The jokes about the spinal cord injuries were cringe-worthy, but I have to admit I laughed. As usual, Joy and Crabman made me laugh the most. I didn’t like the TVland stuff, so I am glad that is over.
"He sends tingles down half my spine. "
“HIS FULLY FUNCTIONING PENIS!”
Those were some damn fine quotes.
I thought it was very slowpaced. I’m glad Earl is out of his coma…let’s move *on * already.
It reminded me of Weekend at Bernie’s. I’m glad to see that even though Randy was the moving force behind Earl crossing things off his list, it still tipped Earl’s balance in his favor and brought him out of his coma.
Billie? Oh, snap! Earl turned gay while he was in his coma!
Too much Randy. I can only take him in small doses, lest I have an urge to scratch my eyeballs and eardrums.
Ditto. I actually turned the episode off at the point where Randy kept on endlessly laughing at the two people in the wheelchair. Enough!
To add: I was very discouraged as it looked like another wasted Earl-still-in-coma episode. My prayers were answered and he woke up at the end! And he apparently will have Billie in his future!
For some reason, that part cracked me up. There’s something about seeing someone else laugh very hard for a long time that (often) makes me then laugh.
Darnell: Remember when you turtle-sat the first Mr.Turtle and he ended up outside his shell an you tried to shove him back in, like I wouldn’t notice? These are the things that make me worry.
I also loved the lines about his mustache:
Darnell: And his mustache! Where’s it’s normal body and bounce?
Randy: You don’t think it kills me to see his mustache like that?
I enjoyed it mostly - but agree that the part with Randy laughing was annoying. Did they just run out of material and need some filler?
Glad Earl woke up, I was bored with him being in the coma. And also, maybe now they can fit in more Catalina!
Randy trying to give Earl an IV bag full of blended chicken & gravy, or whatever it was, made me laugh and then gave me nightmares.
Randy laughing at the memory of leaving two paralyzed children out in the hot sun worked for me because of timing. At half the length, it would have been annoying, but somehow it got funny again when he just kept going. (And I’ve been in a situation where I seriously wanted to stop laughing, knowing I was hurting somebody’s feelings, and just couldn’t stop.)
The game that the disabled guys were playing is a fictional variation on “Murderball”; there’s a documentary about that in my Netflix queue. I’m pretty sure they don’t allow remote-controlled motorized chairs in real life.
