I think that was one of the funniest episodes ever.
It seemed like I laughed every 10 seconds. I kept having to rewind to hear it again because I was laughing so much.

Randy’s issue with the toothpix [sic], and his letters.

Geraldo Rivera!

Joy getting dry-humped in the parking lot!

The running joke of Earl’s eyes being closed in every single picture.

I wanted to kick Geraldo every time he said “restauranteur.” THERE IS NO “N” in “restaurateur,” you dumb shit. And I don’t think it was a joke.
Otherwise, yes, it was so funny it was hard to believe it was only half an hour long! Catalina and Patty the Daytime Hooker tag-team-dating: “She shakes the bottle and I pop the cork.”
Learning that Earl’s middle name is Jehosaphat. Randy’s middle name is Doo – Randall Doo Hickey.
Getting fish wings stuck in your teeth. Darnell explaining that the seafood they serve at the Crab Shack is basically just “chum.”
And of course the line that brought tears of happiness to my eyes: Joy looks at her watch, waits for just the right moment . . . “Douchebags.”
Didn’t crack a smile. The show was funny when it was essentially confined to the bizarre town of Camden. Now that they’ve got people like Rivera playing themselves, or an unfunny slightly-satirical version of themselves, it does nothing for me. I might just stop watching the show; I hated it when they started that stupid secret agent stuff with Darnell.
There were just too many inconsistencies in it to keep me involved in the story. The TV show was supposed to have been on hold for 8 years. Geraldo (who gave an absolutely awful performance and was used way too much) said he was filling in for Stone Phillips. But the 8 year old footage had Geraldo and not Stone. Lot’s of stuff like this. The canon for “Earl” is being bent up too much.
But he said that in the same intro where he told viewers his network had been working on the show for eight years. I took that to mean Phillips is the current host and that Geraldo was filling in for him on the particular evening the show aired, even though Geraldo was the original reporter eight years ago.
