My new pet needs a new name (warning; contents include snake)

I guess it’s appropriate that i take home my first crawlie critter on Halloween…

One of the guys at work had a California Kingsnake that needed a good home, his son got bored with her (the snake is a female), I’ve always found snakes cool, and my co-worker described her as the “easiest pet in the world to care for”, so I figured, why not… After all, free pet

She’s a gorgeous snake about 2.5’ long, aberrant striped pattern of jet black over a cream-ish white, she’s very alert and inquisitive, albeit a bit timid from the move, I’m going to give her a few days to adjust to her new home before I start interactions with her

So, she needs a new name, her original name was “Avatar” (at first I thought it may have been the James Cameron film, but now that I think about it it probably refers to the “arrowhead” Mark on her head) but I’m not a fan of that name for her…

So far, I’m considering;
Alice (Alice Cooper often features snakes in his concert)
Chiana (similar striking monochromatic coloring
Hillary (but I don’t want to insult my snake  )
Nummymuffincoocobutter (even though she is decidedly un-fluffy)
Any other suggestions?

Kala, the snake-lady from The Golden Child. Yes, I’ve watched it, more than once.

“One of her ancestors was raped by a dragon.”

“Does that happen a lot where you come from?”

Slinky.

Shriek.
I predict many of your visitors will call her that anyway.

Not Fish.

BTW, beautiful snake.

She’s got a “V” on her head.
Venom

or Veronica Venus

Racer cos she’s got stripes down her back like doods like painting on their cars to make them look speedier.

Knots because you hope she doesn’t get knotty (un-knotting a snake sounds like the kind of experience that would be very confusing for both parties).

That’s not a V, it’s an A. Ariadna, another reference to long strings.

I had a pet California king snake (also with the lengthwise stripes) when I was a kid, and I wouldn’t say this. He escaped from his cage twice.

Otherwise he was very mellow and didn’t need to be fed that often. However, I never gave him a name.

I just came in to say that that’s a very pretty snake.

If it was a guy, I’d go with Snake’s “best friend”: Apu. Manjula maybe?

I had California king for years. I agree, they are beautiful and pretty smart, as snakes go. Mine was a great eater, not always true for snakes in captivity.
Be aware, they are masters of escape. All snakes are really but my Cali King was the best.
How about Cali as a name?

Ouroboros

It is the name of the symbol of a snake eating it’s tail.

That’s neither a V nor an A; it’s a lambda.

Nakey-butt.

Her current tank is a 10 gallon locktop terrarium, to me, it seems too small for her current size, but I do happen to have an unused 20 Long aquarium, I’ll just need a secure top for it, I think she’d like the extra room (30" long, 12" deep, 12" high), I’ll also put some "furniture " in for her as well, a couple sticks/branches to climb, perhaps a second “buried” hidey hole…

I’ll keep the existing tank as a quarantine/transport/backup tank

Snakey McSnakeface

or

Snek

That’s a beautiful snake.

I suggest Natasha.

Queenie. She’s a girl King snake, right?
