I’m so sorry for your loss sandalfoot. 
last night was the night. me and my mom did the ceremony. we brought her to the vets and i was doing okay untill she was on the table and the vet was talking to my mom about the procedure. Ginger looked right at me and stared at me untill the vet made her lay down. then he gave her the shot. after about 5 seconds , she just flopped down against my mom. then when the vet left the room, that’s when i lost it. at least she’s not in pain anymore. we decided that we’re going to keep the ashes. not quite sure what we’re going to do with them though, maybe plant her a small garden and bury her ashes there.
