I’ll start page 3 by telling swampy they’ve been around almost 60 years.
& no, if you’re one of those 47%ers or even one of those 99%ers, we the Mumpers aren’t taking up a collection for you to get one!
I ain’t from New England. I’m a Noo Yawkuh, an’ youse can call me anyting, 'cept late fuh dinnuh
Why am I a productive member of society, instead of being a slacker?
Sorry, I’ve been there, but I am as ignorant of North Eastern geography as Mrs. Plant v.2.0’s aunt in Rhode Island (who taught me that in a Jewish household, the clam dip goes to the right of the French onion, but I digress) who called us in the woods West of Little Rock, Arkansas, because there was a tornado in Austin, Texas some four hundred miles away.
My dad does the same thing. He hears a tornado has been spotted in Tennessee, and even thought it’s a long state and takes like 8 hours to get from one end to the other, he calls and asks if we are ok. It’s silly. Yes dad, we cowered in the central hall way because tornado touched down in Bucksnort. :smack:
Well … I am happy to report that my fridge -and- freezer are quite full right now! LOL And I was able to find a pork shoulder picnic at a reasonable price so we shall have BBQ by this weekend. They also had pot roasts on sale, buy one get one free - pretty pricey pot roasts, mind you, but then you got the second one for free, so it all averaged out in the end. At least one of the pot roasts will become Italian Beef for sandwiches. I’m also going to take a page from my cousin’s book and use the no-boil lasagna noodles to make mini-lasagnas, in loaf pans! I also got eggplant to make some more eggplant parm with. And a while ago, LiLi had a link to a “cake” in her blog - it was a birthday surprise cake, but more like a bread pudding except made with croissants and with a layer of dark chocolate in the middle. At any rate, I’m going to make that this weekend too. I saved the link to my bookmarks, fortunately. It looked from the pictures, btw, that it comes out more cake-y than pudding-y. If that makes any sense!
I’ve been a busy girl the past couple of days! Now I’m all ready for the Balloon Fiesta, although I’m not actually going to it. I do hope to see some of the balloons above Albuquerque and I’m going to watch on tv, esp. the mass ascensions and the glowdeos (that is so pretty, btw).
Almost the weekend!
So class finished up a day early and I am stuck here until Friday. I did the only reasonable thing that I could do and went out for awesome Mexican food and cold beer to help with the pain
On the plus side…vacation in one week!

Tomorrow, I’ll start making sketches of nail boards - the tools they use to build wire harnesses. It should be a little challenging, but I know they need me to do what I do.
[/QUOTE]
I’ve seen those boards before, and always wondered how they were developed. Does someone just run all the wires in the car/airplane/washing machine/etc. then extract and stretch it all out on a board, or are there CAD/CATIA applications for the purpose?
I’m a lifelong West Coast girl, and I hate being called Baby.
Can you be talked out of the Italian Beef recipe?
Geeze, what a shitty employer! The employees gotta share a room?
What is this world coming to?
I was in a hotel with a bunch of other people - including two of my friends, (don’t know if you’ve met her), the guy who played Perry Cox on Scrubs, my dad, and about 2 dozen others.
Someone decided that we all should go to an amusement park called “Jolly Roger’s” so we all got into cars to drive there. Patty and I were late coming out to the parking lot, so we saw the convoy (of now 50 cars) heading off. My dad ran to catch up with them and jumped into the last car.
So Patty and I got into my car (which was a silver Mercedes) and started to drive off. We were stopped by a security guard because we triggered an ID Theft alarm. Out comes “Perry” and a woman who looked like one of the Sweet Adelines I know. When they saw I was driving, the told the guard it was okay. So then we pull into a gas station to get directions to the park and the guy there said a convoy just snaked through - we should go follow them. That seemed like too much work so instead we went camping and had a much better time. (yeah, right, me? camping? it is to laugh)
fade out - fade in
Now I’m standing in the parking lot of the amusement park, watching several dozen weary adults dragging their feet back to their cars. The drivers all shout, in military precision “100 in, 100 out. My left hand is on the door. My right hand is on the wheel. Circle, Ho!” and they started to drive around a large round grassy median - like a traffic circle, but within the parking lot. The rest of everybody lined up and one by one ran and jumped into their vehicle as it drove around the circle.
At this point I decided to walk back to the hotel, because I knew I’d get there before the others, and I could gloat about how much fun I had compared to how weary they all were.
On my way I passed a couple arguing about where in the restaurant (what restaurant? I don’t know) to make the tomato sauce. Turned out, they were doing a commercial for some jarred sauce. They would let me pass - they thought I was part of the commercial.
That’s when Nature called and I woke up. It’s only been a few minutes, but it’s fading already so I knew I had to tell you about it before it was gone completely.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis a lovely 63 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 86 which will inch up to 90 Amurrkin by Sattidy. Then, next week, maybe high 70’s to low 80’s all week. Whee!
Spidey I’m talkin’ about how we’re supposed to be able to go to the dealership and buy a nice flyin’ car. I was promised this. Where is it I say!
Rosie I’m not real good with dream interpretation but I think this means you should make tomato sauce.
Dindin at Herb’s place everybody! With cake even!
MMMMMMs try not to suffer too much ok?
Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Blurf, y’all.
Up, caffeinated, off to irk.
That is an odd one, rosie
Swampy, every job has it’s perks. You has a gubmint job; you get low pay, lotsa holidays, pension, & the opportunity to irk from home. If you worked for Spacely Sprockets, you’d be issued one, standard.
Herbs, you should get up early & go. I’m gonna watch on teevee but only because I’m gonna be about 1800 miles away this year. It’s so much better in person. Also, head over Sat eve for gas flight.
Greetings from the Johnstown office! I just finished editing a massive work instruction. Go me. More later. Back to work! Work work work work work work…
Happy Thursday!
Yeah, yeah, yeah MOOOOOOM and FCD are on a “work business trip” together.
Ok, I think I just won a battle. Maybe. See, we have two programs, a state program and a federal funds. What’s the diff you ask? One is strictly state funds and the other is strictly federal funds. Duh! Anywho, files for the federal program are pretty easy to deal with as stuff is filed by most recent action. Easy because pretty much all I need to know and all anybody else needs to know is recent stuff but if older stuff is needed it’s all chronological by dates. The state files, however make no sense. They’re in those divided classification type folders which can be good except the way it’s supposed to be done has no logic to it at all and I’ve been [del]bitchin’[/del] expressin’ concern about this and even proposed a more logical, make sense idea. Guess what! Now all state folders can be done the way that makes sense! YAY!!! I say one a battle maybe because that means that now all folders must be redone, which is yuck. However there’s only twenty of 'em (state program is small) so it shouldn’t be that bad. Still, I just created irk.
Here endeth my mornin’ ramble.
LL and LM started Tae-kwon-do classes yesterday. My LL was really good and picked it up right away! Maybe future world champ? My **LM **was a bit more timid and gets frustrated easily when he thinks he isn’t getting something and just wanted to give up, but we encourage him to keep trying (and maybe bribed him with promises of treats if he continues to go, but that is just good parenting right? )It is super inexpensive too. They won free uniforms at our local fair and free lessons, and we used the value of the free lessons to reduce our monthly costs. We will only be paying $99/mo for both kids for lessons! Can’t beat less than $100 for martial arts lessons. I am so excited!
Here is a pic of them in their new uniforms…
Yes, I lived in Memphis and have been to Bucksnort! How special am I? :smack:
