I know ya’ll are probably tired of hearing about him, but my little guy is in the animal hospital now. Yesterday he still wasn’t eating so I took him back to the vet. After examining him, they advised that he be kept there overnight so they could do testing and get some nutrition into him. (He’s down from 7.5 pds on the 4th to 5.7 yesterday) The only good thing is that today isn’t a busy day at work…so the fact that I’m getting next to nothing done while worrying isn’t too bad right now.
I know there are bigger things in the world to worry about, but please keep Midnight in your thoughts and hopefully he’ll pull through and be able to come home tonight.
He’s still at the hospital and not interested in food. But his blood tests are all clear, his liver is fine and nothing bad in his stool. They want to keep him another day and see how it goes. He’s just trying to pull through the URI.
i hope he feels better soon. poor little fur face. i know exactly what you are going through.
my nod the naughty is in hospital as well. she is having liver problems. her weight loss is about the same as your little one. she is usually seven and a half pounds. she is barely 5 pounds now.
she is eating like a shark . she is going through about 12-15 oz of fancy feast and kibble. she isn’t grooming though. that is very worrying. she will have an ultrasound tomorrow.
he will be much happier at home with you and his stuff. his regular sights, smells, and sounds.
does your guy like people food? like tuna, chicken, or roast beast? sometimes you can intice them with yummies like that. fancy feast with gravy seems to get even the most uninterested to take a few licks. kitties seem to really like the gravy.
Cuddles and scritches to the sick kitties. We’ve had some health issues with one of ours too, so I know all too well how tough it is. They’re still members of the family, albeit four-legged furry ones.
He was resting when I left for work, I’ll let you know more when I get home.
When I brought him home last night, I set him down on the couch. He looked up at me a gave me a meow. I asked if he was hungry and got some food out for him, but that’s not what he wanted. I asked if he needed the litter box, but that wasn’t it either. He started trotting down the hall, still giving a few meows until he got to our bedroom door. He went over, jumped on my bed, curled up on the bedspread and gave me a satisfied look. He’s such a brat.
Irving is home, but it’s not looking good. She was on IVs for 6 days and her kidney values are still sky high.
Right now, she’s curled up purring in my arms. There’s a reason I call her the barnacle. She might not make it to Christmas.
Everyone at the vet’s had to comment how mellow and loving she is. And they discovered that it’s fun to sing duets with her. Sing a piece of a song and stop for a second and she’ll add a meow. Then sing. Meow. Sing. Meow. The vet said that every time he or a tech passed her cage they’d do a little routine.
