Sojourn I have been in the same position, I started a thread, offended a lot of people, and apologized. I will admit I felt a lot better after the apology, and do you know why I felt better? I felt better for two reasons a) because I read the peoples responses and I realized I was incorrect in starting the thread and b) because I am human and I recognize that their are people on the other end of the machine and that their feeling may have been hurt by my actions. You may feel that we are all cyborgs on the other ends, and that may help you get through your days when you offend someone, but some of us are built differently, we know that words do hurt even though you may think they are just “words on a screen”.
Class? Class…class…sounds familiar…Oh yeah! I remember that now! I tried it out once but decided it sucked. I don’t go for anything that has a different definition from every other person who thinks they know what they are talking about. But don’t let me stop you from trying it out yourself either.
Oh and before you reply back, remember to show a little class and not offend anybody. You don’t want to have to apologize either, now do you?
jab1 is trying to express his apologies for offending people with his statements, and you’re hacking on him for it? Personally, I think that shows a lot of integrity on his part, and I applaud his willingness to see the argument from the other person’s point of view.
I’ll just say this, jab1, you’re a class act. This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen done by a poster on the boards. Applause, applause, a thousand times applause.
Oh, and by the way, I didn’t feel like letting this unpleasantness with sojourn to hijack your well-meaning thread, so I took the liberty of giving the little pig-fucker his own pit thread.
First let me say, apology accepted. This was a very class act thing to do, and I appreciate it greatly.
Secondly, as you probablly have noticed I skipped out on a lot of the debate after my first post (truth be told I stayed out of the GD debate after I noticed the Stupid Fucks thread). My post in the GD was meant to just scratch the surface of my belief and understanding. My goal was to never ‘give up’ my entire structure of belief as it is a very personal and important thing that shouldn’t be shared in a public arena.
I am not one of those pagans that run to the street corner yelling at the top of their lungs. I don’t belong to pagan organizations, don’t post to pagan message boards, and generally keep it to myself. I like it this way for a lot of reasons that are unimportant here.
But if someone asks questions, then I am happy to answer them. If you have questions, feel free to contact me via email in my profile. In a private forum I would be more than happy to debate with you, but I can’t (won’t?) do it on the board.
Like I said above, I appreciate this thread greatly, and think this was a very gentelmanly thing to do.
