My asshole thinks your bitching about cunt is stupid.
What’s that?
They have big feet?
I may have my references crossed…
Wow. That is SOOOOOOOOOME rant! I have issues with my family (matter of fact I don’t really keep in contact with any of them) but - WOW! You really have somebody in your life who’s like this? W-O-W. That’s all I can type.
I hate it when people are self-righteous I get it from my own siblings. Because I suffer with chronic fatigue syndrome I have to find a job working from home which ofcourse is going to take me a while and I am always picking myself up dusting myself off even when I fail because I want to succeed I get judged for the fact that I won’t get out and get a normal job when I’m not physically capable and yet other idiots have normal jobs and do drugs. I want to scream sometimes because these siblings rely on you everyone at the same time as being cunts they don’t contribute to bills when we have less money all that shit they whinge and fucking whine and it’s just like why don’t you fuck off and move out?
Brains!!!
It’s that time of year again. Hell, they’ll even come out of the woods and chase you when you’re running! OP’s sister definitely fits the definition of cunt, though.
Reiterates vintage-2014 opinion because I’m once again going to be annoyed to see this thread title in New Posts:
Couldn’t you make the same argument about your preferred insult: “asshole?”
“Your sister HAS an asshole. Trying to disparage someone by saying she IS an asshole is stupid, unless you want to explain what is wrong with assholes.”
I have never used the word “cunt” as an insult, (or any other way) and I understand it is viewed as extremely offensive here in the US. Personally, I’m a huge fan of vulvae and vaginas and I see your point. I think you’re tilting at windmills though.
Asshole is not inherently gendered. People of all available sexes have assholes. Not that I don’t see your point (“Just what is it that this highly useful sphincter does that you find so objectionable? You want maybe it should stop??”)
Tilting at windmills is what I do. I can sing a rousing good rendition of “Here me now, O thou bleak and unbearable world” and I look downright jaunty with an aluminum-foil lance and a trashcan-lid shield.
I am marveling at how I can open this thread, but my workplace Internet filter blocks me from going to an M.D. Anderson website to learn about tumor diagnosis and treatment because that’s classified as “Entertainment”.
I don’t think the c word is in the url.
You know what else is misogynistic? Telling women what words they should or shouldn’t be offended by.
(I’m tired of hearing that calling someone a “cunt” is so offensive, like it’s somehow so bad, but there’s no big deal with calling someone a “dick”. There’s nothing wrong with dicks either, but we still use it as an insult.)
I’m a woman and if I want to call someone a cunt I will. And I don’t appreciate a man lecturing me about it.
The filter usually works on website categorization, not key words. Although, I used to get blocked on a hockey site with “SenatorsExtra” in the URL. See that three letter word in the middle?
I get blocked at work on some sites because they have the categorization set to “None.”
SDMB user Bayard is an expert on this stuff.
Calling someone a “dick” isn’t appropriate either, and is very much a sexist insult. Along with “dickish”, etc.
The world is full of silly cunts and stupid dicks of all genders. And if those terms are ever successfully banned, they’ll be replaced by terms deemed equally offensive in short order.
Why can’t we all just get along (sez lil’pollyanna)
I wonder if sahirrnnee’s sister is still living with her mom?
I don’t care if someone uses “cunt” as an insult. Some words are worth getting offended over but that one’s not.
I for one have stopped using “cunt.” I used to reserve it for the worst of the worst. But can now easily see that it’s a gendered insult and have encountered many women saying they don’t want to be called that. It has no real different meaning than many other insults, so I don’t really need it. And there is a continental divide on how bad it is, making accurate communication difficult.
I just don’t see any pressing need to keep it, and it allows for consistency with nigger, faggot, tranny, retard, etc. If I treat women as a disadvantaged group, then there must be a supreme insult that is above the rest, just like any other group.
Plus it’s used so often for men that it takes on a sexist implication that calling someone a woman makes it a worse insult. I refrain from “bitch” and “sissy” and “pussy” for the same reasons.
