I moved to the UK when I was 33. I am shy. I’ve managed to make friends. Stop placing so many limitations on yourself.
I was bit bit freaked out on seeing this thread because that’s exactly what happened to me too! Though to be fair I’m not exactly known for liking Harry Potter. I’ve been in your position in the past and all I can say is… make new friends. Not saying your current friends aren’t worth being around, but if you expanded your social circle a little you wouldn’t be so miffed if you miss out on hanging with one group or another.
I stand by my previous statement.
That would be Geek Social Fallacy Number 5 - “Friends Do Everything Together”. To quote - “It’s hard to explain to a GSF5 carrier that just because you only wanted to have dinner with five other people tonight, it doesn’t mean that your friendship is in terrible danger.”
yeah I realize we can’t do everything together. I was just really upset last night for I had really wanted to see this. i guess i overreacted
And since you didn’t see it at midnight, now you never can see the movie.
No, they’re pretty much normal sized balls. Then again, it was 50 years ago, so maybe I should forgive and move on. But that doesn’t mean I want to go back there, just so we’re clear, once, for twenty minutes, was enough.
Enjoy,
Steven
You can vent. Not getting invited sucks but it happens to everybody. I just saw the movie and I’m here to tell you meh. They did a great job of altering the book for no particular reason.
