The Ogreling was born today, at 5:57 PM. My wife came down to find me this afternoon to tell me she thought her water broke.
:eek:
We got to the hospital, where everything showed signs of proceeding slowly and normally. We appeared to be on track for induction perhaps tomorrow. Unfortunately, while they were giving my wife her IV’s, she became shocky, pale, nauseated, and faint. As a result, the baby’s heart rate started decreasing rapidly. They made the call to do an emergency c-section immediately.
:eek::eek::eek:
Holy shit, that was waaaaaaaaaaay too intense.
He’s fine, though. He has the requisite number of digits, and all the associated paraphernalia. And one hell of a loud, healthy voice.
Thanks, guys. He’s actually a handsome little devil, since he came out the express route instead of being squished out the old-fashioned way. But lord, we’re all tired.
Keep on truckin’, Maeg. She’ll get depressed every once in a while. Help her stay up. Do you know the gender? Are you going to find out?
Hope Mommy and Little One are doing great and tell her to use that nursery as much as possible and get some rest. It will be the last good rest she gets for a while!
A friend of mine had twins, one via the old fashioned exit, one via emergency C-section shortly thereafter. To this day (they’re 6+ months old) you can tell which one came out which exit, just by looking at them
Indeed. The first trimester was not so good. She is feeling better now, but it is definitely a strain. Our ultrasound 2 is on Friday, and we absolutely plan on finding out the gender. As long as the Abomination cooperates and gives us a nice, clean look.
