My world, and welcome to it; a pictorial MMP

I did look at those, but (dumb question alert) are you supposed to wear socks with them? I’m an always-wears-socks kind of person because my feet get incredibly cold so I don’t want shoes that I can’t wear socks with (or would look incredibly silly doing so).

Yup! It’ll look a little weird if you’re wearing thick sweatsocks, mind you, but they look perfectly fine with thinner socks if you’re wearing pants or with opaque tights if you’ve opted for a skirt/dress (you could theoretically do thin knee socks too, but that’s a little too schoolgirl, IMO).

I wear mine with bright-coloured stripy socks most of the time. The sillier the sock, the better.

Neither of us have lost the stripy sock habit, then.

Okay, My home, livingroom, work, and desk, up on aerinlissar.blogspot.com And Nat, because he thinks cameras out means they should be pointed at him.

Nat’s so cute! I love how he’s smiling for the camera.

Thanks for the sock info (to both LiLi and Muppet). I may have to try the Mary Jane’s. I think that just made the decision harder though!

Booooooring. I’ve seen all those things already.

(though I can’t get enough of that Nat… too cute!)

Ok, through with work and time to relaxate. That means, of course, a beerverage!

I have decided that dindin tonight will be smoked pork chops (they’re already cooked, just throw ‘em on the grill for a bit), Uncle Ben’s [sup]TM[/sup] broccoli and rice and green beans. Easy supper to throw together and I don’t feel like doin’ much.

JoeDawg is now happily back with his daddy. As to the Ol’Roy food, remember, I am the nanny, so I feed JoeDawg the food I am provided when I look after him. I will admit to jazzin’ things up a bit, i.e. death chicken bacon and rice and other things like chicken and rice, but, I feed him pretty much what he’s used to eating.

BTW, I miss him… :frowning:

Ok, beerverage time!

Pthibbit.

Nat’s such a camera hog. He also flirts with all pretty girls, all the time. He’s terrible.
I think we’re having leftover Death Chicken for dinner. I may stick it in the oven for half an hour with some cheese on top to heat it up. Maybe zucchini and peppers on the side. Chocolate trifle for dessert.

I think I want this dress http://www.oldnavy.com/browse/product.do?cid=15292&pid=529387&scid=529387022 Maybe. It’s kind of cute. If the buttons work, it might be nice for fall.

I’ve managed to do absolutely nothing but play WoW and surf the Dope. Well, I did take a shower, but I don’t think that counts.

I’m seriously contemplating steam cleaning my hallway carpet. On the other hand, I have to run to the store for a couple of things too. Hmmmm…I dunno. My son wants to go to a football game and he’s due home in a little bit as well. I’ll need to give him money for that, plus, I think he needs a ride.

I’m feeling a little hungry, but I don’t know what I want. Nothing seems to appeal to me, yet my tummy is sort of rumbly.

I just got a couple fall dresses too. This one in black (as shown) and one that seems to have sold out since I bought it. But it was basically a shorter version of the black one in gray. When it eventually turns cold, they’re going to look really nice with some high-heeled boots. But it’s >80 today so I don’t think I’m going to need turtleneck sweater dresses and boots for a while!

Damn you. Now I want that dress too… and dresses are utterly impractical for fall. I’m a sucker for polka dots.

(…as if “impractical” is going to stop me from buying it anyway. Sigh.)

taxi, that turtleneck dress is awfully cute too. I wish VS would set up shop over here in Canada already, because I’m addicted to the PINK undies (waaay comfier than anything available here)

I guess we’ll see how much money I have left after I’ve ventured out to the fall edition of the Clothing Show tomorrow.

Ooh, that’s cute. It will suit you. I’d just look pudgy in it. I’m thinking about making a couple of dresses, if I’ve got time. I’ve got a fine dark red and blue check fabric, and I’ve been thinking about getting an Ikea sheet (they have this very dark red cotton set) and doing something drapey with it. The check would be a Forties or Fifties shirtdress, for sure.
Oh, on our walk today. I Scientifically Determind that if you are even a little pudgy, it is a Bad Idea to wear leggings and a hip-length top. And apparently one of my co-workers was injured yesterday when a naked man ran up and hit her with a pylon.

LiLi, you can’t possibly have been talking to me in that last post… I’m pudgier than you are, dear, and I don’t even have a baby I can blame it on.

Also, of all the places in this city where I would expect a naked man to bop me with a pylon, your neighbourhood doesn’t even make the top 10. In case you’re curious, I gave Kensington Market the #1 slot.

Dinner tonight is a pita with goat cheese and marinated eggplant. Apparently The Boy will be working until late tonight… again… possibly working this weekend too. :frowning: Thankfully, a bunch of my old uni friends just emailed me to let me know they’ve decided to meet up for drinks tonight, so I’ll probably pop out to join them once dinner is done.

If y’all are lucky, I might even provide a drunken post or two when I get home!

I’ve got my computer back - YAY!! I’m still working on setting it up, and I’ve got to find a few program disks, but it’s working - YAY! My friend did it in 3 days for $60 - he’s da bomb!

I’ll get caught up later. Just had to share my joy.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

And it’s my fault!

Remember what I said I was makin’ for supper tonight? It got changed cause of the title of this thread.

I got a phone call to ask what was for supper. I said what I planned. I got asked if that could be changed. I said why. He said, “I’m sittin’ here in my office on the phone with sad puppy dog eyes wantin’ some of those, as you named ‘em, "Friggin’ Good Potatoes.” Sigh… sad puppy dog eyes… dangit, they even work over the phone! “Fine”, says I, “but instead of green beans we need salllit so you have to go to the store and get some bag sallit.” “Ok”, says he. “Good”, says I, “since you’re there get some of that BlueBell Georgia Peach Cobbler ice crean, cause I happen to know they have it in stock.”

Thus, supper was smoked poke chops, "Friggin’ Good N.O.T. and bag sallit. BlueBell Georgia Peach Cobbler ice cream shall be consumed later.

Can y’all believe he’s such a spoiled brat!*

*I still love him even though he is a spoiled brat

Later I will post a picture or two of my neighbor’s insanely adorable month-old kitten that she’s been raising since said kitten was 13 days old! But it will have to wait until I get home.

Dinner for me is probably ramen noodles or something like that. I am not in the mood to cook anything like actual food.

I’m gettin’ a strange vibe concernin’ MOOOOOOM.

I sense that she is excitated over sump’n but I can’t quite put my finger on it… hmmmmmm… what could it be? Any Mumper guesses?

I think she must be done remodeling the basement. Am I right???

Ohhh, I love your home, Soapy.

And your neighborhood reminded me of Mexico in some ways, Dotty (all the light-colored stucco-ish buildings). It makes it easy to see the Arab influence in Spanish colonial architecture. Although they do have more green spaces in Mexico, at least.

Almost forgot to mention the Lissar household. It looks so comfy. And Nat is so cute!

And the shoes: I like the first ones, but am also partial to comfy Mary Janes.

So sorry about the big client, Pie. :frowning:

I’m extremely spoiled, taxi. There are approximately one zillion places to eat within walking distance, including the yumyumyummy ice cream place where I met up with Pie. I avoid gaining massive amounts of weight by being cheap. If I were less cheap and much better off, I would never have to cook at home and would not get bored. I can get lots of places on foot, so when I do indulge, I usually tack on a walk so that I’m offsetting few of the calories.

Got home horribly late…OK…not late compared to others, but 7:15 on a Firday evening is late for me. We almost missed testing something for a release that goes in Sunday morning. I caught it as I was signing off and had to test the piece myself. Appears to be fine, thank goodness.

I ate leftovers from lunch while I was still at work. Guess I should have something in addition to that. Hot chocolate sounds good, for some reason.

Want to do something mindless tonight, but not sure what.

Maybe I’ll look for something fun to watch on hulu.

Apparently it’s Nice But Irritatingly Indecisive Day here at work today. Oy vey. I don’t usually get quite that many of them calling!

Oooooh, that would be me at the end of the day on Friday, snowbunny. But I would know better than to try to make reservations by phone at that point. I hope.

Forgot to mention that I added the Ricotta Fritters to the blog.

And the NOTs look yummy, Smartie. I make baked potato wedges that are also crispy, but they always take a long time. These sound like they should go pretty quickly. Gotta try them soon. I actually have some new potatoes in the kitchen.

Oh…and it’s really funny to look at those dresses taxi and LiLi and think “Oh, they look like your style” when I haven’t met either of you.

Having problems getting off the sofa to head for the kitchen… Tired…

ETA: and updated my sig. You’re up on Monday, rosie. But October is empty so far…

The really great thing is that I think she was in North York, around Eglinton and Warden. Not in my list of naked guy with pylons places at all. I menat taxi in the sweater-dress. I’d look pudgy in it. I gave up that sort of thing when I hit 25. She’s thin and gorgeous (not that we’re not gorgeous).

I’m half-assing a Fifties batwing sleeve housedress. It may turn out horribly. No pattern, and in a hurry.
