My world, and welcome to it; a pictorial MMP

::staggers in to blurf::

Off to forage. Wit and wisdom comes later.

Funeral today.

I don’t know how to watch her husband and son bury the person they loved most of all.

Up caffeinated, off to work. Hockey tonight. Thrak is running around the apartment with a toy mouse in his mouth, growling.

{{{{{Soapy}}}}}

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffienatin’ and survived the commute from the kitchen to the study. :smiley: JoeDawg is in the study with me. I felt he needed to understand the value of work, so today he is being made to sit on the futon so he can watch me work. He has, of course, had mandatory treats and skritch time. As I always say, it’s important to keep a strict regimen so he does not become spoiled.

{{{Soapy}}}

Ok, need to get at the workpile.

Later Y’all!

(((((Ivory)))))

I’m so sorry.

Terrible, horrible night- Nat started crying at 10:45, and kept going almost without break until 1:45. I think we’re going back in to the doctor. Two or three nights a week (or more) with huge crying episodes (and no teeth as yet)? Argh.

So tired.

Mr. Lissar must be dead. He got up an hour and a half earlier than I did.

I’m so sorry, Ivory. :frowning:

Congrats on the mortgage, Swampy! Only 26 years to go for me… :smiley:

Poor LiLi and hubby. Someday this will be over.

I brought my camera with me, and have been taking some pictures of my commute. I’ll upload them tonight, after My Name is Earl!!! I love it when the new fall season starts. Did anybody watch Heroes?

Work beckons…

A sliver lining to the fire ant episode from Sunday. Today, I found the little pustules had formed on my leg, leaving me 6 small zits to pop. Pop them I did, with impunity.

Of all things I miss with my fading youth, zit popping ranks at the top of the list.

Y’all are weird. Just sayin’.
I’m up on a beautiful fall day here and I ran 2 miles. <sanctimonious smile>
I have two errands to run and a dishwasher to unload. Think I can do that? We’ll see. No takee on the couch-no surprise there. Garbage man comes today. Yay!

Get better those with sore throats etc.

Swampy–since you’re done with your mortgage, want to pick up one of mine? Yes, we have two… Oy.

shuffles in

Mmffgggg.

shuffles out

Either through tears or through painfully-dry eyes, Ivory

goes off in search of another cup of Hot Lemon Does Hot Lemon count as doping?

Ugh **ITD **- that is so awful to go through and to watch. I am so sorry both you and her family.

**Rigs **- beautiful fall day here too and I didn’t do two miles but I did do one and weights, so there! :slight_smile: Of course it is taking all of my strength to get my fingers to type, now. I’m all wiggly weak. But it’s good.

OK, showered now and heading off to first job at the pet boutique. I’m wearing a shirt that I got there that says “Sleeps with dogs” - tonight I have to leave there and go straight to my next job at the bar so I guess I’m going to wear it there too. Interesting how context will change your outlook on clothing.

Feel better Nava!

argle blargle.

I think I inherited someone else’s schedule, because this doesn’t seem like mine. I got to work at 8 yesterday morning, left work at 8 last night, and was back here at 8 this morning. Ugh. Who took my nice 8 hour days with lots of doping time and replaced it with work that won’t end? Well, at least I’m not bored, I guess. Or something.

Hawkeyeop was great though. I called him on my way home from the train station and asked him to make me scrambled eggs and a slice of toast; he had it all ready for me when I got home.

More work now. Maybe I’ll get some pictures taken eventually.

zzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZOOOM…

Driving by. Piles of work today. Pronouns gone. Back later, maybe. Love the weird heads!

ZZZzzzzzzzzzoooooommmmmmmm…

I’m so sorry, Soapy. :frowning:

Nava, feel better.

I don’t know if I’ll get a chance to show my pictures this week due to this whole laptop thingy. Ok, I’d better get back to work. Lunch (N.O.L) is leaving in 15 minutes.

Must be tired day. :o <---- yawn.

I couldn’t sleep because I was too keyed up after being at work so late. And I woke up at 3:30 and couldn’t get back to sleep for a while. Ugh.

{{{Soapy}}} I’m so sorry.

Bobbio, my husband understands your sadness over the loss of zits, but I try to make him feel better by letting him pick the ones that I can’t reach on my back. It works well for us. :stuck_out_tongue:

We’ve got 29 years and ::counts:: 3 months I think on our mortgage. But we should be able to pay off the HELOC by about 2011, which will leave us with a smaller payment each month. And both of our cars are paid off (and in excellent condition) so we’re in a pretty good place right now.

I’m probably going to get an iPhone from work. For free. With free service. And all I have to do is be on call one weekend a month. :rolleyes: Hopefully the on-call part won’t be too bad. We’re working on improving the process so that we don’t get bugged regularly on the weekend and yet we still get the free phone and free service. :cool:

OK, this is really not a contest I want to win, but I was here from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. yesterday. (Well, with an hour off for lunch.) But trust me, I’d rather let you have the long-day award for yesterday than have a 14 hour day. I’ll second your argle blargle.

Its’ a contest now?

… what do I win? :rolleyes: :frowning:

Ivory – thinking of you and your friend’s (RIP) family.

Nava – hope you’re feeling a bit better soon.

Hugs and gropes to everybody else :slight_smile:

::Puts nose back to grindstone::

Seven days and counting. :smiley:

soapy, take plenty of tissues.

swampy, congrats on the mortgage payoff. Aren’t you supposed to burn the mortgage papers or something?

shelli, what a great shirt. I want one.

li-li, just keep repeating to yourself…when he’s a teenager, you will not be able to get him out of bed.

Damn Euro keeps going back up. Make it stop!

Get better sickies. ::Scours the MMP with Clorox::

{{Soapy}} I’m very sorry.

In other news, here’s my homework… a little late, but here nonetheless. Here’s a sneak peak into my fabulous life. :slight_smile:

Assuming it’s not a weekend, I get woken up to the inane ramblings of the dumbass morning show on the radio. I deliberately picked a radio station that is so incredibly annoying that I have no choice but to drag myself out of bed to hit the snooze button immediately.

After 4-5 taps on the snooze button, I’m usually sufficiently annoyed that I can roust myself out of bed and feed the ingrates, who by this point have been doing laps between the bedroom and their feeding area to indicate they’d like to be fed. Then I shuffle over to the bathroomto make myself presentable, get dressed (sorry Lunch, no pix of that!), and then take a few minutes to check on what’s happening in the world.

A little after 8am, I throw on a pair of shoesand [del]dash[/del] stroll over to the bus stop(that’s our house in the background, just to give you an idea of how ridiculously close the bus stop is) and take a short ride to the subway station. My hectic commute is all of 20 minutes. Yes, I know, I’m totally spoiled - especially since they’ve added a Tim Horton’sexactly halfway between the subway and work.

Mmmmm… breakfast.

Sorry, no photos of work - the building is rather distinctive, and it would make it too easy for weirdo internet stalkers to find me. I’m within walking distance of Yonge & Bloor, which is home to much of Toronto’s swankiest shopping destinations. It’s a lovely place to blow your hard-earned funds during lunch hours. :slight_smile:

Once the day is done, I do my little commute in reverse, occasionally stopping into the local Sobey’sfor groceries. On a nice day, I might even take the 45 minute walk home instead - the Prince Edward Viaduct, which spans the Don Valley and connects the east end of the city to the west end, has a beautiful view of the ravine below.

Allow me a small detour here - one of my favourite parts about my neighbourhood is that we are within spitting distance of the Don River Trail, which winds along the bottom of the Don River ravine and passes below the aforementioned Viaduct. Can you believe that an oasis like this is just a short walk away from some of the city’s busiest thoroughfares? Like I said… I’m spoiled. :slight_smile: The only downside is that it’s a very long climbback up to civilization.

(you can grab some wild grapesto refuel on the way, though)

Once I’m home, I feed the ingrates once again, then pop out back to give my 'maters and the herb pota watering. If the guard spideris feeling generous, I can grab a handfulto nibble on before dinnertime. On Tuesdays, I also take the binsout for pickup (garbage and recycling are on alternate weeks here, while organics in the green bin are picked up weekly).

I know… crazy interesting, isn’t it?
