My world, and welcome to it; a pictorial MMP

Wow. Those are really neat.
Okay, Nat’s in bed. Motivate me to start tidying.

After I finish my unfinished dinner. It might be mostly cherry turnovers. I got some awesome ones at Costco, as part of the Continuing Search For Breakfast Foods Mr. Lissar Will Eat. He doesn’t eat cherry-based anything. He can have the apple ones.

I think I’ll do a bastardized Death Chicken tomorrow. In the crockpot, with real mushroom bechemel because I don’t have any canned soup around. It’s still Death Chicken-ish

Doncha know, I “ran” right over to IMDB to see if maybe you had a premonition . . .

Those two pieces were part of an exhibit of 40 of the works of Niki de Saint Phalle currently on display at the Missouri Botanical Garden. I only had a couple shots to spare; I need to get a bigger memory for my camera.

I agree on the coolness of the two sculptures, 3. Nice pictures and narrative. ETA: I thought they looked like her work, but I couldn’t remember her name. Saw an exhibit of her stuff in Germany a few years ago. And came across more by her in Chicago, I think it was. But those two pieces are the best I’ve seen, I think.

Are you tidying, LiLi? Or napping along with Nat?

Dinner: little beef tacos (thank you, Trader Joe’s) and Cheerios with dried blueberries. It’s all I had the energy to put together. Bought different milk at Whole Foods yesterday; it’s relatively local, not very processed (not homogenized and pasteurized at the lowest heat possible) and is very good. Which takes a lot for me to say because I really don’t like milk all that much.

I’m very tired and considering crawling into bed very very early.

Guess I’ll watch something and then fall asleep.

Hugs to all…

GT

Whew!!! What a day! I didn’t get home until 4:00 this afternoon. First, we had to head to UW-T to buy a student bus pass for my daughter, the books for her classes, and find out what the deal was with the rest of the financial aid package.

We had to wait for a bit to see one of the financial aid guys, but he worked us in. That was nice. At any rate, my daughter’s Stafford loan and my Plus loan had not been disbursed. We found out they somehow messed up at the main campus, so we had to email the main campus and tell them to release the damn funds. Then, we had to go to a different site to get pins to electronically sign the promissary notes. The good news is that it looks like my daughter will not be paying anything for tuition out of her pocket at the moment. The bad news is that we won’t know for sure for a week or so. Anyway, all of that ate up mucho time.

We then rushed back to Puyallup and took her car for emissions testing. It passed, but I was kind of worried. After that, we had to transfer title on the car. Afrter that, we had to go to the grocery store. After that, we had to come home and finalize how she was taking the bus to and from school. Got that squared away too.

So, now it’s nearly dinner time and I don’t feel like cooking it. I missed the whole day at work and I’m sure my boss is unhappy about it. Oh well. This stuff needed to be taken care of, and the whole loan thing was an unexpected and unhappy blip. If it hadn’t been for that, I wouldn’t have had to spend so much time down at the UW.

We got a lot accomplished today, but at the same time, I feel like all the things I needed to accomplish for myself were not done. Maybe tomorrow.

Hugs, smooches, etc to all. Hopefully, I can get a couple of pictures in tomorrow.

Giant skulls are cool!

What’s not cool is the small glass dish that I didn’t see when unloading the dishwasher this morning. It jumped out and landed with a crash on the floor, forcing us to find the pieces and clean it all up before we could leave, otherwise Invisible Tenant would probably just walk on it and track it further around the house, or that the dog would step in it and then track bloody paw prints around the house. As a result, we missed our regular train.

Alas poor Ramekin…

The mortgage is paid for the month.:rolleyes:

Not yet, but I have had a bath and some more turnovers.
I’m going to set up for making chili and baking tomorrow.

Actually, now that I think about it, I have tidied a bit. Put all the toys away. All 18,000,000,000,000 of them.

Hi kiddies.
I’ve embarked upon a new journey. It’s Optifast, a high protein fast. I hope to lose the extra person I’ve been carrying around. Sorry, no pictures. Maybe later.

SIL installed all the plugs in the living room. **FCD **and I installed 2 shelves and the linen storage in the closet. I need to go to Lowe’s to get some hardware to install the other 2 shelves, because dummy me forgot to get everything we needed. Oh well…

Having ice cream. Need to go to bed. Too many Mondays this week.

Yay for the mortgage payment BBBobbio. I guess… Speakin’ of mortgages, da cave is paid off as of my last payment. Two and a half years early even…
YAAAAAAY!!! WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!

Of course that means I have to remember to figure out saving x number of $$$ per month for insurance and taxes. Hmmmm… mayhaps I shouldn’t be so excitated…

Nah, I’m a happy bear to know that I have sole possession of the deed to da cave!*

*Well, sole possession as long as I keep the taxes up…

What a day! I actually got two whole drawings out. Go me!

I read the whole thing, but I don’t remember anything but those freakin’ cool skulls! I looked at all your pictures, 3acres. Welcome to the MMP, btw! I don’t recall you being here before. I love looking at y’all’s small towns and beautiful scenery. I remembered to put my camera in my purse. Tomorrow will be Picture Day. It’s dark in the morning when I leave, so lunchtime and on the way home will have to do.

Swampy, fix your sig! My name is DOlores. :stuck_out_tongue: You’re welcome, by the way - you blow me away with all your Feud wins…

Dinner tonight was sauteed shrimp (with Old Bay,) Rice-a-roni, and a big ol’ salad.

Ok - brain drained… G’night!

Congrats Swampy!

I’m glad the mortgage issue got squared away, Bobbio.

I usually pay my mortgage over the phone. I get a confirmation number and if there is ever an issue, I have a confirmation number. I haven’t had a problem…yet.

Dinner was leftover Papa Murphys. We had picked up a couple of pizzas last night, and basicallly had a whole pizza left over. So, rather than let it go to waste, I decided we’d eat it for dinner.

Tomorrow, I’ll make something nice.

picu, it’s nice to see you pop in here again.

beebs, get yer tail in here and post already! We miss our resident troublemaker.

That is awesome, Swampy!!

It must be true what my son said, gardentraveler: it’s Taco Tuesday! Beef tacos for the kids and tacos made with mushrooms, onions and tofu for me. All nestled in stale Walmart brand taco shells. Yum.

Home. I had many asthma atacks at work, butI don’t feel tired.

Yay for a paid for swampcave!

bobbio, the only time I was late on the rent was when ex-roomy mailed it it.

picu, welcome back!

Welcome Trilot! The goat and squid are waiting for you.

I shouldn’t be giving everyone else a hard time since I posted and then left! :stuck_out_tongue: But it’s 9pm and I’m still stuck at work so I really can’t blame anyone else for being busy.

I always liked the “relaxi-cab” episode of Friends.

I’m not caught up at all (those two posts just caught my eye!) so hugs and whatnot to everyone. I’m (hopefully) going home.

I am so sorry that I always seem to forget things I want to post about! For instance, I meant to mention to Gotti that I loved the pic of his dog - what a cutie! It’s so neat to see the pics of where folks live & work, btw - great idea, BBBBobbio. Congrats on the new title, Swampy; now if only I can move out of the Feud basement. Cool artwork, 3Acres; I especially liked the giant Skullhead too. GT, I’ve got to get to Whole Foods, thanks for reminding me - I’m out of that Mediterranee yogurt. I haven’t tried any of their milk, but maybe I should. I just don’t drink milk (although I do indeed eat dairy); only milk I usually have is in my coffee.

Now I know I’m probably forgetting something. Oh well! I finally made it to the local farmer’s market today - with money. laughs I got: summer squash, one medium tomato, a couple of fresh pastries (cherry danish and pecan roll), golden bartlett pears, sweet potatoes, and some red potatoes. I was hoping to get some fresh beets, but none were to be had there. I did get a very nice haul, though, so that was good. Tomorrow, turkey chili is on the menu, made in the crock pot.

I hate to say it, but … is it Firday yet?!

:frowning: That is very similar to the diet that I can’t do. To answer your question, GT, I believe the diet is low sodium and thus it messes with the lithium level in your blood to make it higher. Which is not a good thing since the optimum lithium level that makes you better isn’t too much lower than that which will poison you. Hence, raising it is not such a good thing.

Alas, rosie, it is not to be. I only wish my dream was a premonition. I LOVE all things Mame. I think it’s an awesome story about a woman who truly knew no limits and always had a positive outlook on life. (Yes, I know it isn’t a true story.) But I only wish that I could be such a person.

Doggio, stop it with the asthma attacks, already.

Well, I’ve really got to run pretty soon. We’re having a huge breakfast this morning for 55 people. After that it’s off to TVLand where TVMan has graciously decided to let me borrow his laptop while I take mine off to best buy to get the same problem fixed as last time I took it in. I really, really, really hate taking it in because they always send it out and it takes at least a month to get it back.:smack:

Does anybody want some pharingitis (sp?)? It’s slightly used but I’m already sick of it, as well as being sick. Been on it since Sunday, going through “hot lemon” (paracetamol, epinephrine and vit C) like it’s going out of style. Gonna get me a bad tummy from so much paracetamol at this rate.

Pics of The Niece, taken by The Uncle in his cellphone while displaying the power of her lungs, have been received, but I’m at work and can’t open gmail to upload 'em, sorry. They’re not particularly good, as The Niece was moving. I’m going home in a month and shall endeavor to extract better pics from The Proud Daddy - or else!

Commandment number 12: thee shalt not keep thy elder sister from having proper pictures of all her sidekidlets!

(Number 11: Knowest thy people.)

Why am I awake so early? Also, I have a little bit of a sore throat. ::stares suspiciously at Nava::

That makes sense, Pie. How disappointing.

Congratulations on the new start, picu. Hope everything goes really well.

Yay for a paid-up swampcave. My mortgage is automatically taken out of my account. Pretty much everything possible is. Everything else is paid online.

I’m hoping today will be a day where I can get done early, since tomorrow I’m guaranteed to be coming home late.

Off in search of breakfast.
