There was a wolf that was a mason though, so it’s should not be immediately clearing.

I’m not dealing well with this at all. It’s like yucky chalk screeches.
What’s the point of masons if they aren’t all town? Why call them Masons? Why not call them something else so as to not create needless confusion?
I don’t have a good feeling about this game.

Role-blocker is an example whose action is detected by target; are there others? It would be nice to read of examples of the special roles in Mystery Mafia. Is there a good link? (I do NOT have the time or energy to read through a whole game.)

Anyway, your post did recommend N1 self-targeting for those who didn’t on N0, and that would be a way for Town Vigs to self-destruct, so I’ll leave my vote on you for now.

Also see my moderator note about the other game sometime in the last few pages (cliffs: fine to talk about the kind of roles that game had, but don’t quote role PMs from there and don’t assume that any particular role will be the same here).

I’m interested in the vote count; I’ll be around off and on all day, and I heard somewhere that we do not want a tie. It might be time for some of the outlier voters–like me–to consider a more mainstream vote.

Oh, and the Seer thing. If fake-peeking is now supposed to be any sort of get out of lynch free card (or so much as a reason to even consider not voting someone), I refuse to sign up. If its purpose is to WIFOM the scum, then it must remain there. As soon as it starts taking aim at the town it starts being a bad idea. I don’t know if this is also a cultural difference or just an excuse not to really fully consider a vote for Kraz, but it rubs me all kinds of wrong.

It isn’t a get out of lynch free card, it just particularly disturbs me because I KNOW FOR A FACT that his peek is correct, whether it’s fake or real. Although I’m willing to accept that not wanting to lynch someone who has fakepeeked me is a huge leak because it’s so incredibly exploitable by scum, but it’s tough when you know it could be geniune.

I’m really confused here. You are pushing me as a wolf for doing things I’ve always done on 2+2. I am quite willing to retract my villager read on you atm after this quite honestly.

I’m in the middle of moving to grad school and posting in extremely small windows when I have time, and it’s straight up wrong that I’m not a hardworking villager here. I’ve made more reads posts than you ffs.

nono, do not rule out masons

in the last game there were maybe a pool or 5 or 6 people who were designated (masons). each Night they would target someone and if they hit another mason they would be able to talk, and were able to continue targetting other people in order to increase the masonry size.

And there’s one of the discussions about the possibility of masons. I don’t consider the idea an assumption, more like an outlier possibility.

Like all other roles, we have to allow the possibility until we know what roles definitely exist and everybody is accounted for.

I worry about looking Townie because I often come across as Scum. And I have never started a game as Scum. (I once subbed in as one, though.)

Maybe, maybe not. Roleblockers that is. I don’t think we can assume that someone roleblocked will know that they were blocked. Sometimes the mod tells them, and sometimes they don’t.

If this game is anything like the last, blocked targets would not be informed that their action was unsuccessful.
