I guess nobody saw my question.
Not really important anyway, but we used to have a theory in some games (well, some swore by it…others didn’t) that “Third vote is scum”.
The idea behind it was that placing a third vote on someone is neither being one of the very first (instigator) or very last (bandwagoner) votes, thus staying out of the public eye and trying to “blend” in with the other votes subtly.

As I said, we’ve had some players swear by it and actually use it as a reason to cast a vote.

And, too, we’ve had countless discussion and debates over it.
So I was just curious as to whether the new (to here) people have ever experienced that discussion?

To me–and that has been the experience I’ve seen the most–the beginning and then falling off of an initial (one of the first, if not THE first) bandwagon is usually a nulltell. In many cases an early bandwagon that grew strong then ebbed were actual Townies, but I can remember a few of them turning out to be scum later. I wouldn’t put too much faith in it myself, but YMMV.

I was just wondering if it occurs here. I’m not voting peeker just for this reason, it’s just another layer of icing on this delicious wolfiness cake.
WRT the third vote thing, I’ve never heard it myself but haven’t played in as many games as some of the other poggers here.

Man I really haven’t gotten the vibe that krayz is a wolf. If he is why would he come into the thread and deviate so much from his normal game? Why would he fakepeek in a game with a bunch of players who don’t understand what fakepeeks are? His reaction to heat has also been villagery, imo.

@ Drain – Yeah, but that’s not the whole case on her even if it is what Inner himself voted on. She also arguably did what lilflower and Mykbot said she did (haven’t checked the fourth vote), which is argue that Mykbot’s bad idea was aimed getting some naive vigs to off themselves, which is both far-fetched as a motive and I think unsupported by his own words.

So we disagree on something.

When I originally voted, I started out saying that I was voting for a bad idea. I think quite a few opportunistic people read that one line and put an easy vote on me, and I think Lilflower was among them. She I thought was the scummiest of the lot since she mischaracterized my vote so much.

I agree masons are highly unlikely, given the game setup. But until we generally accept that there are no masons, we have to allow the possibility. It would be stupid to discount any reasonable crazy possibility, and I’m a Fool not stupid.

Personally, I can’t see any reason why the fool would straight up out himself except as a little WIFOM. And this stuck out to me because he’s the one I’m most suspicious of for the opportunistic votes on both peeker and Krayz.

If YOU (and other 2p2’ers) are saying he is, in fact, deviating from his normal game play style, that doesn’t say to you he’s not what he normally is?

Even if not scum, he could be PFK/Third Party.

In our games experience, players tend to lynch Third Party’s too, since they usually tend to be malicious.

It’s one of those things that I can’t reconcile with anything that makes any kind of logical sense so I am chalking it up to him trying to be funny and failing or him accidentally holding down the shift key.

If he is actually a fool (and seriously I am going to be pissed with MHaye [not that he will care] if he let Gad put a jester into this game. He knows better) then oh well. I am not going to spend my time worrying about that. If we lose the game to a jester, I can’t say that I will really care about this game anymore.

I’m pretty sure I know what at least a portion of it is, but I want to know why that’s worth a vote on Silver Jan and not another of the later bandwagon peeker voters. I figure there has to be something more than the obvious. I want to hear it, not just see the vote.

That said, I had been toying with voting for Krayonz myself

Since I was actually on the peeker bandwagon (maybe even started it, can’t remember if Giraffe was first) It’s not that.

My initial vote on Peeker was to gauge his reaction. He hasn’t really given me a solid Scum feel in his reaction, but, I’m stil suspicious.

Silver Jan, however, has come in, and basically said:

1. Oh my, there’s so much
2. Commented only on peeker
3. Cast an easy me too vote pushing him farther into the lead.

So, it just seems like a lazy and easy thing to do. Something a Scum might do.

If he was a noob, then yes he may deviate that drastically.

He is not. In fact, I’d say he’s a pretty capable player. Capable players don’t deviate from their village game like that when they get randed scum in the next game. For this I believe his reasons for playing this game so far have nothing to do with him being a wolf. Maybe he’s a jester, maybe he’s pissed off for some reason, maybe his irl time constraints don’t afford him the option of being more pro-townie. I don’t know why, but I feel like it isn’t because he’s a wolf and that it’s an easy reason for people to jump on his wagon and when he dies as a townie you all can just say “oh he did it to himself acting that way.”

Maybe, maybe not. Roleblockers that is. I don’t think we can assume that someone roleblocked will know that they were blocked. Sometimes the mod tells them, and sometimes they don’t.

i don’t know about this sach typically if you’ve got an action and get blocked you get a message along the lines of your door was locked or you fell asleep and forgot to get up kind of thing. at least from my experience.
