Mystery Mafia -- Game Thread

Let me help clarify:
[ul]
[li]Game with all night action roles and lots of players = odds of paranoid/naive/insane cops are HIGH[/li][li]Game with paranoid/insane cops means that someone is going to claim someone else is guilty on Day Two.[/li][li]What day is it?[/li][li]Did they claim cop?[/li][/ul]

Gnarlycharlie is 95% innocent.

This. Bingo.

They could be 5 Oracles, or whatever they’re called. They investigate folks but the results go out to random people, not to the cops themselves.

there were a lot of random peeks in the other game that were flying around to people who didn’t target the person they got the peek on and often the peeks were wrong

so don’t take much heed on the peeks imo

You think all of those points are a “yes” in favor of, but

  1. Most players in this game didn’t even seem to know what an insane cop was, as rarely as it’s used, so I’d think that would be a point in favor of it NOT being a role in this game. But that’s just me playing devil’s advocate to you…I do agree that there’s a CHANCE there could be, so it’s a non-issue.

4 is a no, though, Silver Jan did not claim cop of any kind. Are you thinking she did? If so, why do you think that?
I digress, though, unvote Silver Jan.

Vote Scuba Ben.

I’d like to see a few more eyes on Inner Stickler, if anyone is looking for a possible lynch candidate.

OMGWTFBBQ.

I picked the wrong night to drink most of a bottle of wine.

I have no clue what to do right now. Oof.

But there’s no way all of them are right.

nah. it’s just a result of some stuff. but eye can’t mention it or eye get modkilled and shit. probably will target meyeself manana. give em heck (can eye use that word gad?). eye forget there’s whole ton of them eye can’t use anymore.

Well, let me put it another way.

Gad based this game on the 100-role game elsewhere, he also said he’d be adding different and new roles.

Insane cop and paranoid cop and Naive cop are actually not unheard of roles. If they weren’t used in the 100-role game, they’re going to be used here, I’d bet my hat on it.

Gad had to have looked up some roles on the mafia wiki for information. There they are… more cop-related roles.

Those are night action roles. Bet anything they’re in the game. Want more proof?

5 people claimed to have received peeks. That means what? 5 oracles.

Misremembered.

Jan is probably not a cop, just a person the oracle sends data to. Jan doesn’t need protection, she’s just an outlet for the power role’s whispers.

5 oracles, 1 normal, 1 paranoid, 1 naive, 1 insane, and probably, one scumbag making shit up.

I still think the Scuba_ben case is meh. But I’m not going to defend him, he’s better than the gnarlycharlie lynch.

Precisely.

The **naive oracle **always gets innocent results. The naive cop can figure out they’re naive eventually… they should claim if they’ve done 4-5 innocent results in a row. That means they’re either naive or sane and then those results matter.

The sane oracle should claim as soon as they hit a guilty party, or 4-5 results into the game. But remember, the oracles don’t need to claim as their results are being anonymously sent to us, so maybe they never need to claim.

The insane oracle always gets backwards results, and can quickly figure out that they are insane, because they’re going to get guilty, guilty, guilty, innocent, guilty results. Their results are useful.

The **paranoid oracle **will always get guilty results no matter what.

The mafia oracle will lie. They will likely tell people that folks are innocent, innocent, then guilty to screw with us and cause a mis-lynch.

Hell, we have 5 results. Let’s look at them and see if we can’t see if we can learn anything.

What were the 5 results again?

eye’m still voting for giraffe. at least that is for sure scum. donuts (eye think that is allowed).

I don’t know if it’s bugging anybody else, but the absence of Supposed Mason **gnarlycharlie **is starting to bug me.

I understand he’s playing in 4 games, and perhaps his participation would be light because of that, but we haven’t heard from him here since yesterday (Sunday) morning.

Considering that he’s been a topic of discussion, you’d think he might want to make an appearance, or that his fellow Mason might have PM’d him to say “get your butt over here” at some point.

For people who don’t know (since ATPG didn’t say)

A normal cop is self explanatory.

An insane one always gets the wrong read (so if they investigate Town, they get a read of scum, if they investigate a scum, they get a read of Town).

A naive one always gets a read of “Town”, no matter what.

A paranoid one always gets a read of “Scum”, no matter what.

And when it’s put like that (five peeks and five possible cop roles), it does make more sense and seem likely.

NETA: D’oh, and there’s ATPG in his next post explaining it too.

Actually, you’re currently voting for DonkTimesFour.

I need assistance figuring this out. Can someone volunteer to work directly with me on solving this? I’ll just talk to you, and we’ll solve it together, so we don’t spam up the board and I feel like I’m talking to no one in particular.

Regardless of what you do with gnarly or Scuba, this is important stuff and I need someone who can help me walk through the scenarios, because my brain is not as organized as it should be.

I need a volunteer or volunteers. Please respond directly to this post indicating you want to engage me on solving this.

I got Dancecat as Town
Giraffe got Blaster as Town
Scuba got Silver Jan as Town
Weedy got Texcat as Town (and Mason)
Silver Jan got gnarlycharlie as Wolf

The game I based this on had 44 people, if I recall correctly. Second part of this sentence is true, tho.

Hmmmmmm.

That’s unusual.

You should have at least 2 guilty results.
[ul]
[li]This means that the sane cop got a town result.[/li][li]This means that the naive cop got a town result (ALWAYS)[/li][li]This means that the paranoid cop scanned gnarly, thus gnarly is INNOCENT (Fact)[/li][li]This means the INSANE COP GOT A INNOCENT RESULT![/li][/ul]

One of those innocent results is actually guilty!

I’m going to be thinking out loud for a sec.

Jan is Town.
–Jan is a real Cop. Charlie, Tex, and possibly Ben are all Scum (the latter because of the message, but I find that a more remote reason than the immediate.
–Jan is a paranoid or insane Cop. If paranoid, it tells us nothing about Tex and Charlie (could have been a panicky Scum gambit), if insane, we get two confirmed Town, and Ben starts leaning Town for me.
–Jan is Scum. Charlie and Tex are likely Town, Ben is likely Scum.
–Jan is Town, not a Cop. We are all fucked and have no clue what to do next.

I think we learn more from lynching Jan than we do from lynching Charlie
