Mystery Science Theater 3000

There are very few tv shows that really make me rotf & lmao, but this one comes close. Could there any better use for grade-F 1970’s science fiction movies?

I find that show hugely funny, opus. I don’t often have time to sit down and watch the whole thing, but when I do I always laugh my butt off.

Oh cripes… missed again. Somebody grab the other end of this thing and help me haul it over to MPSIMS.

Your wish is my command.

NYC IRL III
is on April 15th. Do you have what it takes?

I enjoy that show too. I usually miss it because of soccer, but I got to see it this morning. Such fun!

Say, when’s it on and what channel? I was gonna order SciFi channel just for it, but I’d heard it’d been canceled. Are they showing reruns? I’d get SciFi if they are.

Reruns are on Sci-Fi at 9am on Saturday. Don’t know for how much longer, though.

The Sci-Fi Channel is supposed to have the rights to the 8th, 9th, and 10th seasons until sometime next year. After that, ???

“Bite me, it’s fun!!”

Total number of episodes on Sci-Fi:
8th: 22
9th: 13
10th: 13

Total:48

Total from Comedy Central: 129 (if you count #701 twice. There were two versions: a regular one and a “Turkey Day” one with alternate host segments)

Also, let us not forget Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie!!

Total “official” shows: 178

Even the brilliant guys at Best Brains would like to forget the KTMA days. (21 shows, 18 known to exist)

I didn’t have cable for a couple years so I have this big gap in my personnel knowledge. What happened to Dr Forrester? How did Pearl get younger? How did she hook up with the monkey and the Observer?

Hey Otto, Dr. Forrester aged backward and became the Star Baby ala “2001”. No explanation as to Pearl’s de-aging. She, Prof. Bobo, and Observer ended up on “modern” Earth via a wormhole and set up shop in her family’s ancestral castle. Mike and the Bots got to go home when the SOL was sent hurtling towards Earth. The last scene was hilarious: Mike and the Bots sitting on a couch discussing all the things they’re going to do now that they’re free, but end up watching a bad movie “The Crawling Eye” (which was episode 101, BTW) and they start making comments. So the circle is complete.

Yeah, I knew how it all ended, but how did the monkey and the Observer enter into it to begin with?

I dream of a day when little robot silohuettes bob around at the bottom of “The Godfather”

Bobo was a scientist on the Earth of the year 2525 (is man still alive? did woman survive?) and apes had taken over. He was rescued by Pearl after Mike destroyed the Earth. Observer was rescued by Pearl after Mike blew up the Observer’s home planet (do you see a trend here?) Mike also managed to destroy 1 or 2 other planets along the way.

BTW, the reason the Earth was overtaken by apes? Mike’s family started to marry various primates in the early 21st century and it all went downhill from there.

The bad news is that there are no more new shows, and the lame-assed Sci-Fi Channel has decided to only show the re-runs at 9 a.m. EST on Saturdays.

The good news is that Rhino Home Video is sloooowly ramping up it’s release of MST episodes on tape (and, soon, DVD!). Right now it’s only the episodes from the Comedy Central days, but I’m sure one day the SF Channels eps will be available.
