I grew up in Boston, lived in Bemidji (MN) and now reside in Englewood.
For some reason the first ones that sprang to my brain were sucker and creek chub.
Freudians will have fun with that one.
Thank you so much for the 7th grade earworm! I don’t even know how to begin getting rid of it. M
I like pie.
Most pies don’t have G in them. Or their names.
Most excellent! I’m going to be remembering this all day.
Hey!
I resemble that comment!
After “Herring”, I couldn’t even think of another that DID have a G in its name.
Whiting!
I remember the horror I felt when I moved to Florida and first saw “dolphin” on a menu. I guess that’s why the Hawaiian name is more commonly used.
As much as my brain wants to hate them, status fishing, and all of that garbage… I feel compelled to answer them. I think it’s that I want to prove to strangers that I’m smart or something.

Just saw one on my FB feed. “Name a word that starts with ‘P’ and ends with ‘Y’. 97% of people can’t do it!” Apparently, 97% of people are morons. It is, of course, a form of chain letter to see how many knuckleheads will respond to it.

He has a LAST name too, you know. Harry T. Goldfish.
I can name at least three fish without the letter “g.”
Nemo
Dory
Marlin
I live in the City of Somers Point, and in the summer I fish for Flounder, Sea Bass, and Bluefish.
Mahi mahi was one of the first fish I thought of.
It’s not even just likes. Engagement counts, too. The more engagement a Facebook post has, the more it gets spread. And then, the more your stuff gets spread, the more future posts get spread. So it works just like the likes mentioned earlier.
I’m not sure if they get any non-public data from simply replying, though.
Wahoo, it’s what’s for dinner.
I wanted meat loaf, though, so I hope it doesn’t bother you that I don’t share your enthusiasm.
I hear these ads on the radio sometimes where it’s an ad for a free vacation or something, but you have to “ACT NOW and when you call, give us the name of a country that doesn’t have the letter “A” in it!”
I always think of Peru first for some reason, but I do remember the first time I heard it I was like “France, no, Spain, no, Brazil, no, Russia, nyet,…” and realized that while there are many, many countries don’t have an “A” in them, so many do…probably about 2/3rds.
Anything with “-stan”
Almost all Middle East countries
Almost all South American and European countries
