Hell, I can think of a bunch of women I know who do comedy in Toronto I’d rank above Gwyneth Paltrow.
Gweneth may not be the “hottest” of all hollywood stars. However, I get the impression that she has a level of sophistication and refinement rarefied even among her peers. I think that’s what makes her a true monumental beauty. I certainly don’t get the same impression from Mila Kunis, Jessica Alba, or anyone else mentioned above - as knockout gorgeous as they, themselves may be.
Ms. Paltrow is an excellent actor, in my opinion.
She appears to carry herself with a sort of old fashioned grace.

When Paltrow first made the scene, around the time Emma was released, someone wrote in the New York Times that they couldn’t understand the fuss some writers about her intelligence and bearing, since she was pretty much typical of any woman her age from a privileged background - she mentioned some private girls school that turned them out by the boatload. It’s notable only because so few actors, successful ones at least, come from that sort of background, so writers don’t typically encounter people that don’t act like someone from a trailer park that’s won the lottery.

Yes, my building and my gym as well. Some are sticks, like Gwyneth, some are not so stick-like. So many woman in the world, beautiful in so many different ways, why do we have to pick only 5?

I just saw a clip from the Daily Show that showed a Dallas anchorwoman who was much hotter than Gwyneth Paltrow. (it’s on the 4/22/13 show, about the G.W. Bush Presidential Library) Though I will admit that Paltrow is getting hotter with age.
Paltrow really does it for me. But to say that one woman is the prettiest in Hollywood is just crazy. There are a lot of great picks in this thread who also make me smile.
My opinion of Paltrow went up a few days ago when I saw her tell Graham Norton that he was “on crack”. Still working on a list of 5; such an endeavor must not be rushed, but start with:

That said, I find Ms. Paltrow far more attractive now than when she first burst onto the scene.
Gwyneth is a good looking woman, but I don’t think she particularly even stood out in the gaggle of hot coeds in Isla Vista in 1990 at UCSB. Not that I actually saw her, but there was probably a reasonably good chance.
I’ve always thought of her as pretty but not a world class beauty. She looked really really good in The Avengers.
Lots of beautiful women around, on screen and in real life. Right now in my top 5 I’d have to put Melissa Rauch, Mila Kunis, Mila Jovovich, Jessica Chastain and the redhead on the Wendy’s commercials.
