Well I’m about 4 weeks away from getting my new golden retiever puppy and I really haven’t thought of any names yet. I was wondering if the graces of this board could give me a hand.
Molsen and Champ are out, had an uncle with 2 goldens and these names, but everything else reasonable will be considered.

My Golden’s name was “Diggity.”
It was the only name all family members could agree on and it suited him. He drove us all nuts for 16 years - I still miss him. Have fun with yours what ever you call him/her!

I have a friend whose Golden Retriever is named “George”. It suits his bumbling, playful personality!
I’m digging Homer, like that, but don’t want him known as a dumb dog…HAHA D’oh!!!

I’d suggest “Oscar” for a name, or maybe “Skippy”… I think “george” is well suited for a retriever though, too.

“Fido” (or “Phydeaux”; nice one, ArrrMatey) is a great dog name. It seems like a cliche, but I personally have never met a dog named Fido. Also it means “loyal,” which is a great name for a dog.
