Normally when I don’t know the name of a song, I Google some lyrics, but the only times I’ve heard this have been in the grocery store, in a convenience store (twice), and today at my hairdresser’s - all places where the lyrics were kind of hard to hear.
The last time, though, it was definitely being played on a Top 40 station.
All I have are some pretty vague hints. Female singer - probably white, sounds kind of cute. The chorus doesn’t have any lyrics at all, but rather is a cool synthesizer riff that sounds '80s enough that the first time I heard it, I thought it was an old song that I missed the first time around.
Four times in a month, and all during quick visits to businesses leads me to believe otherwise, though.
Any ideas?
Nope. Thanks for trying, though. I know it can’t be easy with so little information.
The '80s, sort-of-New-Wavey vibe from the synthesizer chorus should be the biggest giveaway on this song, if anyone else knows what I’m talking about.
If I had to take a wild guess, I would say that it’s a group rather than a solo artist, but I’m totally pulling that out of my ass, so I could be wrong.
Got it. Don’t know why I didn’t think to call the radio station in the first place. :smack:
“Cool” is now officially the first and only Gwen Stefani song I like. Looks like it’s from a couple years ago, so not quite new. Guess it was just a coincidence that I heard it so much lately.
This was probably some huge hit or something, but bear in mind that loudspeakers in stores are pretty much the only places I hear Top 40 music these days.
Edit: and obviously I was right with the “cute white chick” guess.
