The first two who came to my mind are Vivalostwages and NoClueBoy, both of whom I became familiar with in the Star Trek-related threads. Their posts are always thoughtful and witty at the same time, enjoyable to read.

Polycarp and Zev Steinhardt, two people who are unfailingly fair and understanding on the most inflamitory subject of all…religion. I don’t always agree, but I truly appreciate their input. Would that everyone were as fair and ballanced as these two.

Um, yes, there is a pattern here. There’s no way in Oghalla I could ever pick just two, or even two dozen, Dopers to mention, without slighting at least as many more. I’ve read through this whole thread, nodding at names, chuckling or smiling at reasons given, and find there’s no way I can pluck two from among the teeming and say, “These, these are my two absolute favorite Dopers.” Because my favorites change from day to day, from thread to thread, from post to post.
So, lemme just say,
Thanks to those who mentioned me. My vanity-thirst has been wonderfully slaked (for the moment ;)).
Thanks to ALL the Dopers whose words have enlightened, amused, fascinated, educated, tickled, bemused, amazed, moved, and gobsmacked me. My life would be as a desert without this community (well, okay, relatively speaking; okay, more like a weed-choked vacant lot…).
