Name some things only advertised during the holidays?

Norelco shavers
“Even our name says Christmas…”
stoopid commercials…

singing:

The Hess truck’s back and it’s better than ever.
For Christmas this year, the Hess truck’s back.

Holiday Candies:

Ferrer Roche (or however the hell it’s spelled)

Chocolate Orange

Pretentious Perfumes (Okay, they don’t only advertise during the holidays, but they really step it up then, and they recycle the ads year after year)

Swiss Colony/Hickory Farms meat 'n cheese assortments.

Aspen cologne.

Stetson cologne.

White Diamonds perfume.

Tott’s.

Budweiser, but with the Clydesdales and sleigh and beautiful snowy scene–not a crushed can in sight

Cheezusjumpedupchristinachariot-drivensidecar, you mean you’ve got those obscenities in the UK, too?!?

Anyway, to add to the list: I don’t ever see Scotch tape commercials except at the holidays.

All Okies sing along…

BC CLARK’S

ANNIVERSARY SALE!

<For the rest of y’all, this place has run this commercial using this jingle for at least 25 years that I can remember. If ever you want to verify that someone is truly from Oklahoma, just ask them to sing it. If they can’t, they’re lying.>

Well, I don’t, bastard!

But I did once attend a lunch during which a friend of mine ordered some. We thought he was kidding. I do remember those ads, though. They mislead me as a child; I thought Bristol Cream was some lovely creamy thing. Ha!

Another one: subscriptions to Playboy. I’ve never seen it advertised except at Christmas, with Santa as ad man, surrounded by “spokesmodels” with large Yuletide breasts.

Dredehls.

Actually, the other day I was thinking about that old Norelco electric shaver commercial they kept resurrecting every single year from between, say, 1974 and 1981. It was stop motion animated and looked like it was from the same folks who made the old Ramkin Bass “Rudolph’s Shiny New Year”. It had Santa sledding through the snow drifts on a elecrtic rezor singing:

Closer shave
Cleaner shave
Smoother all the way
A Norelco electric razor
Is always welcomed on Christmas Day!

But as I recall they kept using it despite the fact the footage was all grainy and yellowed and the razor Santa was riding was ridiculously out of date.

Isotoner gloves (someone else mentioned the slippers, but the don’t advertise the gloves until the holidays, either)

Inky-I remember that commercial! I think they still dust it off from time to time, on the Fox Family Network. Seems like I saw it last year.

Christmas movie ads–the classics, like Miracle on 34th Street and It’s a Wonderful Life. I mean, they advertise that you can get them on video.

I’ll think of more. I know there’s more.
