Back from shoppin’. We survived. YAY! Actually 'twas not bad at all. We had brekkies at Waffle House and hit the sto’s. We went three places and none of ‘em were real crowded, so we pretty much just grabbe what we went in for, paid and vamoosed. That’s my kinda shoppin’.
Now, I shall iron. Or, in southern speak, ahrn. Ick! Must do it however.
The Pajama Cardinalfish is alive and well after a week, so we shall buy some more today.
Unfortunately, it is too cold in Georgia to introduce them to Swampy’s cement pond.
Back from breakfast. **FCD **has a fire going in the basement, and I’ll be heading down shortly to play in clay. I just made him a train reservation - he’ll be staying in Ocala after Christmas to take his folks to Duke Med Center so his dad can get some tests and possibly surgery. Depending on the schedule, he’ll take his folks home and take the train here, or he’ll end up staying longer, at which point I’ll change his reservation. We shall see. In any case, he’s set for now.
Morning. Caffeine is starting to kick in. I’m going to hit the local metaphysical fair where a bunch of my friends are vending and/or speaking; then to the local yarn place to sign up for the knitting retreat in February; then a little Yule shopping at another friend’s store.
TheElf’s show went well. It’s always fun to hang out with friends and listen to them play.
Have a great day all.
I’m going to find and watch the Very First Episode tonight to celebrate. My dad has it on DVD, but he’s two hours away and the internet is right here. I’m pretty sure it’s on YouTube somewhere.
I fail to see what’s so freaky about the pajamafish. They’re kind of pretty in a neon-glow way.
Toy monster trucks are cool, swampy. Toy dump trucks are even cooler. Speaking of toys, we’re having a toy drive for a local charity at irk. The box has been in place all month. To date there is one (1) toy in it: a knockoff Monsters High Goth doll that I got last week at the Dolla Sto. :smack: People, really?
Monster truck? Seriously?? swampy, I am disappoint!
Taking a break from clay. I threw 5 penguin bodies and 3 more pieces that **FCD **will airbrush when they’re fired. I need to cut out penguin wings and feet and tails and beaks, plus a snout and ears so **FCD **can make a hog pot. I’ll probably throw a few more small pieces, just because.
The cold front is moving thru - the temp has dropped 6° since I woke up. Stoopit cold.
I need chocolate. The love offerings have been mighty skimpy of late… Just sayin’…
it seems we have a rabid raccoon in the neighborhood.
Sah-son came in to tell me that we should not let Sah-dog out by himself for a while. He’d never go after the raccoon but that doesn’t mean the raccoon wouldn’t come after him. One of the neighbors dogs had to be put down after a run in with the raccoon.
I’m not sure how people know it’s rabid, although the girl next door said they found it in their yard. That it was hiding under her mother’s chair while her mother was still sitting in it is cause for concern I think.
It’s a monster truck that makes all kinds of neat sounds. I want one!
I has ahrned. Go Me! Right now OYKW is havin’ a nappy poo. Around three or so Ima fry up some chikin tenders. I shall also cook up some rice, make some gravy, heat up the leftover peas from last night and bake up some frozen bizkits. We shall have an earlyish dindin that will be nummy.
As for Turkey Day, OYKW will take off Wednesday to the wilds of West Alabammy for a couple of days. I shall host a TDay gatherin’ here at da cave for eight of us who hang around for the day. I’m bakin’ the turkey and makin’ the gravy and dressin’. May also cook up some collards. Who knows. Others shall bring sides, munchies and desserts. Then Firday afternoon I’ll had up to Ye Olde Hometowne where family shall gather on Sattidy at mom’s for another Turkey Day meal.
Am I a bad person to be thinkin’ I’ll be glad when the next four weeks are all over? No holiday spirit or mood whatsoever here.
Moooom, I’ll save you a slice of my Terry’s chocolate orange that I got on sale today for a very good price. Or, as swampy might say, I swiped Terry’s orange.
Poor raccoon.
It is time to begin calling/texting/emailing/Facebook messaging Rosie to distract her from the Doctor marathon on whatever it is.
Ask her things such as, “What time is it?”, “Did you know Doctor Who is on?”, “Are bacon cheesburgers Kosher?”
Early dindin has been et. Yes, we et at geezer time. 'Twas a late N.O.L./early dindin thing.
Midget swipin’ Terry’s chawklit ernge. HEE!
I have a confession to make. I shall spoiler it so as not to upset the oh so delicate and dainty natures of Mumpers such as Rosie, doggio, Spaz and other Whovian types.
I am not a Doctor Who fan. Matter of fact I’ve never even sat through an entire episode because I find it tedious and boring.
If’n you look and feel faint, it’s your fault. I spoilered it.
swampy, if you even attempted to watch an episode, you’re ahead of me. I am not interested in the least.
Done claying for the day. I threw 4 more pots. Two are going to become monsters. The other two have been altered from round just because - one is now square-ish and the other has a fluted edge - I only did 6 flutes, but I think I may do 6 more when I go down and turn off the fan. Tomorrow, I’ll add wings and snouts and fangs and assorted other decorations to my pots. I’d love to run the kiln next weekend… Meanwhile, I cleaned my wheel, tray, and wedging table - they were all pretty gross but now they’re clean. Go me!
We had hamburgers for a late lunch, so I dunno what we’ll do for supper - probably just graze. Which is fine - I don’t feel like cooking. I’s tahred!
**sari **- glad the raccoon has been dispatched! A rabid animal is among the few I would kill. Such a creature deserves to die, for its own good and the good of the rest of the world. So yay!
**Midget **- I don’t see any chocolate around here. It’s not nice to tease FairyChatMom!!! <thunderclap>
