I saw this movie in 1985 or so. I was visiting some friends who were going to grad school at SUNY-Stony Brook and this movie was showing at the university one night. I’m guessing the movie was probably made in the mid to late 70’s, or about five to ten years old at the time I saw it. It was a foreign film, German I think but possibly Swedish. What I remember about the plot was that there were these three women shopping in a clothing boutique, and the owner was a real misogynist asshole who was constantly harassing and insulting the women while they were shopping. Finally one of the women gets fed up and kills the guy, and when the police come to investigate, none of the three women will talk about what happened, so that the police can’t pin the murder on any one of them. I think the word “Silence” may have been in the title, but just searching for that word on IMDB gives me tons of results that are way too recent.
