Name this superhero(?) movie

Basic plot: similar to Untouchable except the main character’s weakness is the color red. At the end of the movie he’s about to get married and his fiancee walks into the church with her hair dyed red.

Super Fuzz

Wow. A whole five minutes to get the answer…

I suspected the answer as soon as I saw the “weakness for red” part. One of the first 2 or 3 movies I ever saw in a theater as a child (but decades since I last saw it on TV.)

Which is, of course, a reference to the classic Green Lantern weakness to the color yellow.

That’s it. Is that plot summary correct? I remember it being a fairly typical action/ adventure comedy except the hero actually has a reason for never getting hurt.

What I remember most was the music sting “Supah! Supah! Super! Super! Super!”

See for yourself, it is on Youtube. I downloaded it as soon as this post reminded me. (While I was at it, I grabbed Pandemonium, another movie I remembered from my Childhood.)

I haven’t had a chance to post since I answered the OP, but Super Fuzz will always have a special place in my heart. See, it was shot in South Florida shortly after I moved there. I knew those neighborhoods, those warehouses. The movie got some local press as a result, so I knew about it before it was released. Saw it once in the theater and thought it was kinda like a live-action cartoon with the added bonus of real-life Ernest Borgnine. And once it was on cable, I think I saw it something like 80 times. Sure, it’s a low budget movie shot on poor film stock with crappy lighting. And sure, it’s made by an Italian guy working in America with another Italian guy… but the acting is all so earnest and the fight scenes are so goofy, the movie worked for my young teen self.
