Nashville, Season 2

George Harrison’s wife?

Oh, right.

:stuck_out_tongue:

You mean Eric Clapton, right?

Lisa Marie Presley said on “Watch what happens live” the she watched Nashville.

I liked Zoey’s voice better than Scarlett’s during their duet. Maybe because the latter’s is pretty but very twangy and I’m not a huge C&W fan, while Zoey’s is just a really pretty voice.

Peggy better hurry up and get preggers, or she’s going to have some 'splainin to do about timing.

Oh, yeah, right, like her plan’s got any shot in hell of working.

Also, Scarlett “dances” like she’s having a seizure. (I just do not like that character or possibly the actress or probably both. I think that in the photo shoot scene she was supposed to be uncomfortable. It was played as though she was unfamiliar with how a camera works.)

Annnnnnnnnnnnnd… Rayna’s got her voice back already.

More signs that the music is going downhill – Gunnar and Avery’s song. What did that have to do with country music, and why did it need a female voice, except to get Zoey over to Gunnar’s house so he could jump her?

Looks like Juliette is finally learning a little bit about being a human being – letting Avery use her studio was just, yanno, nice.

Do like the new villainess, though – that could be interesting.

I really didn’t like that Gunnar/Avery song, but I think it’s just because I don’t like the way Avery sings anything.

Gunnar was acting like a bumbling doofus around Zoey. Are you 14, dude?

I did like that Scarlett and Deacon song towards the end of the episode.

And that final song was very noticeably autotuned. I think I would have liked it stripped down, but that performance.

Had to laugh during the last scene between Lamar and Tandy. He’s all “…and it was that no-good Teddy, now that he’s mayor he thinks he can throw his weight around. Just wait 'til I get my hands on him…” (twirls mustache).

I was waiting for Tandy to say, “yeah, um, Daddy… about that…”

I was pleased to see that one of the cut away shots showing music row actually showed my office building. I paused it to see if I could see me in my office through the window. I wasn’t in. Crap, I was almost on the show

Man that was a soapy episode. I know, so has every other episode, but with Rayna suddenly getting her voice back, Deacon making whoopie and music after being “so close to the edge,” daughter Maddie’s big drama last episode explained away with “yeah, she’s doing much better” and Powers Boothe chewing the scenery…too funny.

The Gunnar and Avery song sounds like early Beatles power pop, with Zoey’s voice sounding even more poppy, 3-part harmony. Fine enough song, but yeah, not very country…

Decent guitar episode. When Deacon is looking for a job, he’s a Gruhn’s Guitars and that’s George Gruhn, the most famous vintage guitar dealer in the world. That must’ve been his shop. And everything Deacon said to the customer was spot on, even about rosewood vs. mahogany. Gunnar’s and Avery’s guitars are cool old Gibsons, and the super-pricey Martin - well, it’s case  - makes an appearance. Oh, and Will plays a butterscotch Tele and hits all the right chords and notes, but the actor comes across as the least comfortable playing…but in the overall scheme of things, that’s really a minor quibble…

Did the Zoey/Gunnar thing come out of left field for anyone else? Would I have seen that coming had I paid more attention in previous episodes? (For some reason, I thought he was still pining over Scarlett)

Didn’t they go to that fancy party with Scarlett and Will last week?

Another entertaining episode – and better music than usual. Really liked Scarlett’s song at the end.

I like all the little touches they put in the show to make it seems authentic. For example, there is an Edgehill Road on Music Row (In fact I can see it from my window right now) so Edgehill Records sounds like it could be a real thing. And Bell Meade is the part of town where the rich people live so of course there would be a Bell Meade polo match.

That is cool – though everyone ending up at the polo match was kind of cheesy. And Juliette in the stables – did anyone else think of the Marx Bros. flick A Day at the Races?

Whaddya think, is Rayna gonna hook up with the hunky superstar? (Has Liam been written out of the story, or will he get back from “Europe”?). And Zoey’s 180 almost gave me whiplash – why did she change her mind so quickly? Because Scarlett might get back together with Avery?

And how long will Tandy’s secret last?

Argh, I don’t want to watch the friggin’ CMAs next week – I want my Nashville fix!

You know Liam is going to come back and there is going to be a love triangle… and we wouldn’t want it any other way ;).

As for Zoey, yep - its because Scarlett has “gotten over” Gunner by chasing Avery. She mentioned earlier that the “girl code” (seriously Gunner - you never heard of such stuff?) means you can’t date a friend’s ex if she’s not over him yet.
