Sorry for not getting this started. I haven’t been following basketball much this year. I think this is the first tournament since the field expanded to 64 ('83 or '84?) that I didn’t even get a bracket filled out.
I’m glad you all were able to use the old login info for the group. Somebody pm me next time.
I didn’t see this until too late, but entered into ESPN solo.
I missed 3 games early on Friday, and sunk to like 12%. Then I started a very hot streak and got the last 8(excluding Ohio state, which everybody missed also) or so Friday, and the first 12 on Saturday climbing to 99.8 %. I was thinking I might have my first perfect day ever, but missed 3 games late, including some I had advancing a good ways. And dropped to 92nd percentile
I didn’t watch much on Sunday, but somehow am back at 99.4 percentile. Except I had Illinois in the Final, so It’s gonna drop like a Roller-Coaster over the next couple weeks.
Picked 22/32 of the 1st round correctly, and 9/16 in the second.
Currently tied for second place at work, so feeling pretty good (remember, I know almost nothing about bball)
What is nice at work is it isn’t only the top that gets prizes (gift cards. note no fee to enter), there are prizes for the following places: 1, 2, 3, 17, 32 and 49
As a confirmed Georgia fan and Gator-hater (married to an FSU alum, to boot), I logically ought to have been delighted to see both Ohio State and Florida go down in flames. And if their vanquishers had been, say, Loyola, or North Texas, or Cleveland State, I would have been. Oral Roberts? Nope. I’ll even root for the Gators over them.
I’m also an FSU alum. Had to root for the Gators over VA Tech, Michael Vick is reason enough. And anyone over Oral Roberts, what a vile piece of shit ‘school’ that is.
And yes, UF has horrible alumni like Tebow and Aaron Hernandez
Coach Mike White really knows how to get the least out of his Gators when the game is on the line. He had the players stand around and dribble for 25 seconds once they built up an 11-point lead with about 8-10 minutes left. The obvious result was that they either turned the ball over or put up a nearly impossible shot each possessions, allowing those ORU fucks right back in the game.
The news concerning my dice simulation is no better. All four of the final four teams predicted by my dice (Illinois, Texas, Ohio State, and Virginia) are gone!
Late to this thread but very disappointing loss for the Hokies. After the miracle finish in regulation, Gator player missing 2 foul shots with a 3 point lead with 7.5 seconds to go, and a Hokie 3 pointer to tie with 1 second left, was sure they were going to win in OT
But hell, they were predicted to finish at the bottom of the ACC this year, getting into the madness this year wasn’t in the plan.
I am sure Mike Young, who I am proud to say was one of my best friends growing up, will help get them back again. All of their big players are coming back, and a couple are sophomores, and my Mom said they just signed a big-time recruit. I am sure there will be more.
