NE Ohio DopeFest on Sat. April 13

Thanks, sam. Folks, if there’s the slightest possibility that you might come to the DopeFest, please post here. We’d love to see you!

Oh, wait…it looks like there will be other female Dopers than me! Yippee! And yes, I did ask Lillith Fair to come this year. Again. And again she refuses. But she has an excuse since she moved to New York State.

Just tell her “Little Nemo’s in New York and he’s planning on being there.”

She really prefers to keep all of us as “imaginary friends”! LOL. Well, not ME, of course! I keep telling her everyone is harmless, but no luck. I think her husband would be a great Doper, too!

Funny thing is guys, I actually just got a job, but still not looking like I could make it. It’s telecommuting though so maybe I won’t tell them I’m in Ohio when I’m working.

Your secret is safe with us. Please, come to Dublin West!

For those out of town, Brian lives about a mile North of Cleveland Hopkins Airport.

Again, we’ll make sure you get directions.

As I’ve said, I was planning on visiting Cleveland anyway and this meeting gives me an event to organize my trip around.

Which means I’ll be visiting other sights in the city while there. My main targets are the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the zoo (which I’ve heard is excellent). If anyone is interested in joining me, let me know here or by PM.

I also always hit bookstores when visiting someplace. Any recommendations for good ones would be appreciated.

Here’s the biggest on the East Side: http://store-locator.barnesandnoble.com/store/2154
Here’s a nicer, smaller and more funky one: http://www.loganberrybooks.com/

Both would be about an hour’s drive from BMalion’s.

The Barnes and Noble at Crocker Park is closer.

Not really interested in a chain store like Barnes & Noble. I’d rather check out an independent.

This one is a “maybe”. My tenants are moving out of my old Heights-ish house (where there’s been a couple of Dopefests in the past) and I may need to stop by to put in a washer and dryer, to make the place more enticing for any new tenants. The timing may work.

Edit: although I was an East Sider in my Cleveland years, when I visit the area, I usually stay with or near my ex in Strongsville. Not far from bmalion’s place.

No more Joseph-Beth. :frowning:

Mac’s Backs on Coventry Road in Cleveland Heights. A communist bookstore is just down the street, too.

Paper Peddlers on Mayfield Road in South Euclid. Random hours; closed far more often than not, but oddly still in business.

Fireside Books in Chagrin Falls. It used to the best place in town for Bill Watterson sightings.

Seconded. Make it happen, elmwood!

Absolutely nobody knows who I am or has any reason to want to meet me, but I may have to de-cloak just long enough to cure that situation. Map says just under three hours if I take the toll (I know, I know- DNFTT), and after all- if I don’t pay no tolls, they don’t get no rolls…

Of course I live about 1/2 mile from I-75, so if anyone (like someone coming from Cinci) wanted to potentially share gas costs/tolls or even just hitch a ride from Wapakoneta on North and East, I’m game.

Well, to be fair- it’s a trap. He puts his Cleves out there publicly but then gets mad if guys stare at it.

Hmm. I may make a serious effort to get to this one. I just need to find affordable lodging nearby because I hate making late night drives whenever I can avoid them.

I can be a ride for anyone wanting to come from the Columbus area too.

I have several guest rooms.
