Neat Rodney Dangerfield joke book dedicated to Leonard Nimoy!?!

The book is called “Some Rodney Dangerfield Jokes and Other Jokes”. It is at amazon.com.
Outside of the dedication one of the jokes is about Nimoy and no respect.
Book talks of Nimoy himself having been a comedian in 1980!?!

Oh. Carrie Soulliere is author!

Carrie Soulliere is a self-publishing hack. There are no Rodney Dangerfield jokes in the book(despite the title) because she couldn’t afford to buy the rights to them-what the book actually contains is “jokes in the style of the late, great comedian Rodney Dangerfield”
The only reason that Nimoy’s name is in the book is because he had just died and she was hoping to con some of his fans into buying her book.

If you’ve got the physical book, take a look at the cover. It supposedly shows a photo of Dangerfield holding a microphone…but most of the face is covered up by the title of the book. She also did self-published books titled Get Smart Jokes and other Jokes and Some Welcome Back Kotter type jokes and other jokes, both printed decades after those shows ever showed.
Edited to add: A review for the book-“DO NOT BUY THIS! Self published book that had google images searched and printed out. Thought it was written by a 2nd grader for a school project. This had horrible grammar, spelling errors, and one sentence maybe every other page. I thought maybe it was a final wish of a dying child to have some of their NOT so funny jokes printed and bound. Poor and very unprofessional representation of a grade school child’s school project. If you want to buy it as fire starter, it definitely has enough blank pages to not release toxic fumes. I don’t need a whole page to tell me where the punchlines are. OMG so horrible…not even good enough as a gag gift.”

She’s gotta be funnier than Ray Comfort. R-right?

That book is crap.

I’ve seen the book. What, in your mind, makes it “neat”?

Moderator Action

Since this is about a book, let’s move it to CS (from MPSIMS).

The real scoop on Rodney Dangerfield, as told by his friend Norm Macdonald.

That’s funny.

As far as I know, Nimoy was never a stand-up comedian…although he may have told a joke or two during an interview.

Your book is crap, I told her. She said, “I’d like a second opinion,” so I said, OK, you’re ugly, too!

Looks at the replies…

“Tough crowd, I tell ya, tough crowd” - Rodney Dangerfield.

Deserves more respect than the OP example:

Maybe Soulliere confused “comedian” with “comic”.

Obligatory:

Leonard Nimoy: The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins

At least some answer. I wish the author offered a whole explanation (or is it somewhere deep in the book?). I only saw a sample of the book and the jokes about Nimoy and a plane and a report card. I have no money available on my card right now so I cannot order the 99 cent Kindle copy to see if it says anymore about Nimoy’s alleged comedy career.

  1. There is no “deep” for you to dig into.
  2. Nimoy was mentioned because Nimoy had just died and she wanted to trick people into buying the book.

Both of these facts have already been pointed out.

So you have read the whole book?

Ah well 99 cents is not a fortune. Every joke book is usually some fun. I will get a copy in a couple of weeks maybe. Unless I find the answer elsewhere first. I have looked at Google. Nothing about it there as far as Nimoy doing comedy decades ago…

You supposedly did-Do you remember the deceptive title and cover, the extremely sparse layout, the poor typesetting etc. ? There were no discussions in that book for you to dig into-Do you dispute any of this?
