Another company is making the classic candy, and claiming the only change is to improve the flavor of the chocolate disks. I loved the chocolates, sometimes you could find whole rolls of the chocolate, I got a bunch of those just before New England Confectionary was sold. Spangler Candy Company has bought the company now and returning the Necco Wafer to it’s position of glory in the annals of candydom.

I have a couple of cases I bought when they were still available at list price. (minus a few rolls, of course.) I will be delighted to buy new ones when they are available and not feel I need to hoard these ones.
If they are back from the dead they should be called Necro Wafers.

Yes, Necco Wafers are chalky, but some of the flavors are good. My favorite, though, is the pink wintergreen lozenges. I hope they’re bringing those back.
My favorite is the clove. There’s not a lot of clove candy. I also like all the citrus flavors and the licorice.
That’s a rain I like spice drops too. Interesting old school candy flavor.
But now my plan to sell my hoarde of Necco’s (to fund my retirement) is dashed!
Do hope they don’t “improve” the taste of most of the chalky flavors…
Sounds yummy. Doesn’t mention if they will use the version with or without the artificial colors. Love me some Necco wafers, but artificial colors limit how many I can eat in a single sitting.

Necco was a entry in today’s NY Times crossword puzzle. “Classic brand of candy wafers”
was at a specialty candy store a week ago and asked about them. Will buy some for sure.
I never cared for Necco Wafers. Then again, I like Circus Peanuts; what do I know?

The thing about Necco Wafers is that if you rub them together between your fingers they give you a nice feeling. Go ahead…try it…
I’m a bit skeptical about tweaking any of the flavors…I remember the attempt at making sour Necco Wafers. XP Otherwise, I’m looking forward to this! My favorite flavor is the pink wintergreen. It always puzzled me that they changed up the flavors for their conversation hearts…white was wintergreen, while pink was some kind of bitter chemical flavor.
