My and my wife’s fifth anniversary is coming up. I have in mind what I want to get her, but I need some help fleshing it out. That’s where you folks come in.
We’re big travelers, and by the time that anniversary rolls around we will, G-d willing, have toured all 50 US States and all 10 Canadian Provinces. I want to get us a matched pair of jackets with a map and some words on the back, sort of signifying that we’re members of an exclusive “team.”
I’m torn, however, about what kind of jacket I want. I thought that what I wanted was suede, but in looking around, it doesn’t seem to me that anyone puts designs on suede jackets. Seems to me they only do that with leather or wool-leather. I’m not sure I’m crazy about the leather look, but on the other hand, I’d been hoping for a heavy material, a strong sort of garment that when someone slaps you on the back, you hear a nice “thwack” and hardly feel it. I don’t know if the wool-leather ones are that sort of thing.
I’m sure some of you guys must be major fashion mavens. Any advice? I’m pretty sure that what I have in my mental image exists…but what, exactly, am I looking for here?
