Need help making friends in The Sims 2

Ok, I have two questions:

  1. I have some Sims I’m at around 80/80 score on the relationship level, yet they aren’t my friend (with the happy face icon). Is this a bug? Or am I just doing something wrong?

  2. There is a Sim in my neighborhood that I want my original Sim to meet, but he never walks past her house, and when I try to invite people over, they never bring him over. Is there any way I can force them to meet? Or is just random occurances?

  1. Well, you like them, but they may not like you. :wink:

I would stick to safe social interactions until they get to ‘50’. ‘Admire’ etc… If you’re at ‘80’ they can’t be that far from ‘50’, unless you two just don’t get along. (i.e. if your Sim and the ‘friend’ Sim don’t have any conversational interests in common.) When they’re talking, you may be getting a lot of negatives above your ‘friend’ Sims head - try finding the conversational pieces that give positives.

  1. There are two ways to handle this.
  • Go to a community lot (the park, the clothing mall etc…), the Sim you want to meet may stop by.
  • A faster option is to go to a Sims house who knows both of you. Then, have THAT Sim invite you and the person you want to meet. Leave them alone and they should talk, or tease or joke. :slight_smile: It doesn’t matter, as long s they interact. Save and go to your Sims house and your Sim will ‘know’ this person and can call them up and start the process of wooing them over the phone. :slight_smile:

Oh, and to further answer the second question:

The people who walk by your house is random, you can’t do anything to change who walks by.

Ooh, I feel your pain. One of Studly Leather’s “friends” from work is up to the 80’s for him, is always calling him up to want to chat, etc, etc, but just won’t be friends. I hate that damned bitch. Studly needs to get ahead in life! He’s got a baby to support and he needs a freaking promotion, and who’s standing in his way? Who’s a waste of his friend-making time? Yeah, you know it.
