Need help rehoming cats, GA/AL

This is just breaking my heart, and I’ve been putting it off as long as possible.

Mr Kitty had his double lung transplant surgery in January. There were definitely ups and downs, but he’s well on the road to recovery. Sadly, due to financial/health/etc issues, our bankruptcy has been converted to a chapter 7, which means giving up the house, moving in with his dad, and losing our cats. :frowning:

There are two indoor cats, a boy (shorthaired grey) and girl (shorthaired… uhhh… almost mottled grey/brown/weirdness), both neutered. Sweet, snuggly, excellent about the litterbox. He’s 8, she’s 7, and they’ve been together since we brought the girl home (she was the size of my hand at the time), so I don’t want to split them up.

The third is an outdoor cat, longhaired black girl, neutered. She was the barn cat at my work, but the kids were being… not very nice to her so I took her home. Very independent, likes being petted but is not a snuggler. Doesn’t wander. Useless as a hunter-type; the other cats that lived on campus used to bring her food. She can go to a different home if needed, since she doesn’t interact with the others much.

I do not want them to go to a shelter. Our neighbor was originally going to take the outside cat, but recently picked up a dog that he’s concerned would not get along with her (the dog has already killed a number of his chickens, and we don’t want to take the chance). Anyone along the GA/AL line, on I-20, that can help us out? The house is midway between Birmingham and Atlanta, but I can make transportation arrangements further if needed.

Thanks in advance!

I just asked my facebook friend, The Fixer. I live almost on the GA/AL line on 20, in Carroll County. Let you know what I find out.

Bobkitty, The Fixer requests pictures of the kitties if you have any.
