Background: I’m in my sixties and I am compiling a set of mp3’s that represent “Music Of My Life” for an audience roughly same as myself. I have diverse and eclectic tastes so… anything goes. I believe there are only two types of music: good and bad.
I have Green Day’s “Boulevard Of Broken Dreams” which is an absolute masterpiece. I do things in three’s so I need two more songs to complete the set. One option is to provide two more Green Day songs… the second song of the set would definitely be “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)” but I’m having trouble finding the third song. Listening to GD’s catalog there are many candidates for the third song, but I would prefer something closer to down-tempo rather than hard grunge… can’t find one.
The other option is to do three songs of the same style… perhaps Nirvana???
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
