Need to find a webcam that works with Windows 10-- please help!

Hey all,
So I’ve just about lost my mind trying to deal with Microsoft Lifecam Studio 5000 and Windows 10. I need to find a webcam that is guaranteed to work out of the box with Windows 10-- the drivers exist, they can be downloaded, they don’t break the computer, the webcam actually works, no complex tricks or impossible workarounds required, etc etc etc.

I really, really need to avoid a repeat of what just happened. I typed the entire story out and erased it because, well, this turned a fiery rant about Microsoft and the worst customer service in the known universe, and I really do need to keep this in general questions. :wink: I just need to find a webcam that 100% works and is COMPLETELY compatible with Windows 10 Home 64-bit. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much in advance to all the wonderful smart people here!

Added, because it passed the edit time limit: The Lifecam literally says in print on the back of the box that it works with Windows 10. I guarantee that it does not-- so what the box/user guide/whatever says is not enough to go on. I need to find a webcam that people have actually used that they actually found to work with Windows 10.

I have a Logitech C525 (about $32) that works beautifully with Windows 10 Home 64x. Installed the software, plugged it in, and it just works.

Thanks! :slight_smile: Has anybody tried the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920? I’ve heard good things about it, but after going through the entire Lifecam nightmare… I really feel like I need to know for a fact that it worked for someone else. Here’s the link:C920 version

We use the C922 for remote conferences at work and they work really well.
