Some plans/phones allow you to choose what a particular person in your address book hears when they call you. A friend of mine has his phone set up so that I hear Green Day’s Church on Sunday when I call him, even though everyone else hears some heinous country soung.

cool never ehard of this in the UK. All I ever hears is the usual ringing sound
Once upon a time you dressed so fine
You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn’t you?
People’d call, say “Beware doll, you’re bound to fall”
You thought they were all kiddin’ you
You used to laugh about
Everybody that was hangin’ out
Now you don’t talk so loud
Now you don’t seem so proud
About having to be scrounging for your next meal
How does it feel
How does it feel
To be without a home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?
-or-
“Positively 4th Street”
I wish that for just one time
you could stand inside my shoes
and just for that one moment
I could be you.
Yes, I wish that for just one time
You could stand inside my shoes
You’d know what a drag it is
to see you.
The Bitch is Back by Elton John
Anything But Down by Sheryl Crow

this is a good point. All she will hear is ring eing, unless she is in the habit of calling him from the same room.

Of course the one time this happens is worth the trouble, IMO.
“Further On Up The Road” ("…somebody’s gonna hurt you like you hurt me.") It’s an old blues song but Eric Clapton does a great version. When I got divorced it was one of my favorite songs on this theme.
“Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright” by Dylan ("…you just kinda wasted my precious time") was another.
Song for the Dumped by Ben Folds Five, excerpts below:
So you wanted
To take a break
Slow it down some
And have some space
Well fuck you too
Give me my money back
Give me my money back
Give me my money back
You bitch
I want my money back
I want my money back
And don’t forget
To give me back my black T-shirt

When my ex calls me I have my phone play a snippet of The Saw Doctors " I Useta Love Her"
[/QUOTE]
That reminded me of another. I think it’s called “All Over Now” the version I’m familiar with is by Johnny Winter. (“I used to love her…but it’s all over now”) I think it was an older song by another artist.

A Bobby Womack song originally. Good one.

I didn’t know who did it originally but I know they “covered” lots of stuff others wrote, especially early on. Took me awhile to realize it was them—seems too twangy, almost country/western.
