Probably just overkill at this point, but a couple more-
The White Stripes, "There’s No Home for You Here."
That excerpt doesn’t really do the song justice, so the balance of the lyrics available here. (Album=Elephant). Come to think of it, you probably have to hear that one to fully appreciate it.
Probably just me, but it’s the song for a failed relationship. Snarky but still somehow poignant.
And a second I can’t believe hasn’t been mentioned already- Godsmack, “Whatever”
Even with points deducted for lack of subtlety and originality, it still has to be near the top.
I’m still not sure if I’m being whooshed here or not. I am aware of the practice of assigning different ring tones to different groups of people in your contact book, so you can tell the difference between say a member of your family calling you and a work colleague, but that is the person receiving the call who hears it, not the person making the call. Never in life have I rung anyone and heard anything other than a usual ringing sound.
Actually, this list of country song titles is just chock full of recommendations… Some seem hard to track down, though (otherwise I Still Miss You, Baby, but my Aim’s Getting Better or I Don’t Know What Came Over Me (When I Came All Over You) would probably have been my top picks).
Yea, I’m surprised they don’t have this in the UK. I know for a fact that Sprint has them also, here’s a link which briefly describes it. They are referred to as call tones rather than ring tones.
The ring tone is what the person holding the phone hears when one receives a call. A ringback is what the caller hears instead of the ringing sound.
I have friends on Verizon, AT&T and pre-paid that all have this feature. I think it is just a one-time fee to buy the ringback, but you would have to check with your provider.
I have my own personal ringback from friends. I like it. It makes me feel all special.
